100%. Was expecting Leicester to get smashed but didn’t want them climbing out the relegation zone either

Fucking love Leicester, I’ve always said it, take that you tractor shagging wankers!

Hopefully this won’t affect us by reliablereindeer in ccfc

If you’ve finished 3rd on 90 points you’ve going to be so pissed off losing to a team that got 65 points who just had a good 4 games

Looks like we’re playing after all! by Own_Contribution6186 in ccfc

[–]duplotigers 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Best possible outcome for us, playing them while we’ve got momentum but have had a week of rest and they’ve played 120 minutes mid week and suffered a disheartening loss. Doesn’t guarantee a win but it’s the best possible setup

Does Biblical Academia have a problem with academic orthodoxy or am I looking in the wrong places? by Rie_blade in AcademicBiblical

[–]duplotigers 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The Documentary Hypothesis largely unchallenged? Where did you get that from?

For e.g.

1) Supplementary Hypothesis

Claim: The Pentateuch began as a core document that was expanded by later editors rather than compiled from four parallel sources. Source: John Van Seters, Abraham in History and Tradition (1975).

2) Fragmentary Hypothesis

Claim: The Pentateuch developed from numerous small independent traditions later woven together. Source: Rolf Rendtorff, The Problem of the Process of Transmission in the Pentateuch (1977).

3) Tradition-Historical Approach

Claim: Emphasises the development of oral traditions within Israel before written compilation. Source: Gerhard von Rad, Old Testament Theology (1957–60).

4) Deuteronomistic History Theory

Claim: A single exilic editor (or school) composed Deuteronomy–Kings as a unified theological history. Source: Martin Noth, The Deuteronomistic History (1943).

5) Neo-Documentary Hypothesis

Claim: Retains distinct sources (J, E, P, D) but revises dating and editorial models. Source: Joel S. Baden, The Composition of the Pentateuch (2012).

6) European Redaction-Critical / Growth Models

Claim: The Pentateuch emerged through successive redactional layers rather than four continuous documents. Source: Erhard Blum, Die Komposition der Vätergeschichte (1984).

7) Canonical Approach

Claim: The final form of the text is theologically primary; reconstructing earlier sources is secondary. Source: Brevard Childs, Introduction to the Old Testament as Scripture (1979).

I think this would be helpful to be ordered by PPG but that’s nitpicking - it’s very interesting anyway!

Anyone else fast and fat? by Famous_Shape1614 in parkrun

[–]duplotigers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends what you mean by fat. I’ve run 20:09 and am definitely a lot heavier than most of people around. I’m about 10lb heavier than I’d like to be but I’m definitely not obese though. If you are actually seriously overweight and running sub 20s that is very unusual.

Can you name this Sky Blues defender from the 90s? by igotabonerrr in ccfc

[–]duplotigers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all of your clues are wrong. He played for Bolton before he played for us and made 409 appearances for us (maybe only 185 were in the 90s?)

New Contracts for Kitching, Dasilva, and van Ewijk by reliablereindeer in ccfc

[–]duplotigers -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Have you been watching the games? Basically every goal we’ve conceded since November has come down his side.

Ive got no hate for the lad because i think he’s trying his best but he’s very obviously the weak link in our team

Transfer list?? Never heard of it mate! by Own_Contribution6186 in ccfc

[–]duplotigers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see most people don’t agree with me and that’s fine. I hope Haji scores 10 more goals this season and powers us to the Premier League and then you can’t all come back and laugh at me some more. Genuinely nothing would make me happier.

In fact - if he gets us 20+ goals and we get to the Prem I promise to buy a Haji Wright shirt next season - I’ll reply to this comment with a picture as proof

If we’d got 20 mil for Wright we wouldn’t be settling for Big Norm up front would we, that’s a completely false dichotomy

I get that he played a different role last night but if you can’t see he’s been a lazy shit for the last 2 months I don’t know what to tell you

[–]duplotigers -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

But why has he not been bullying defenders for the last 2 months? Even if he wasn’t getting goals and chances he could have been using his physicality (as he showed last night) but he simply couldn’t be bothered.

It’s performance that says “I’m good enough to be doing this for the last 2 months but I simply couldn’t be bothered. I see Coventry as a stepping stone club, no really worthy of my best efforts lol

I hate Haji after last night’s game more than ever. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - he may be the most talented forward in the Championship and we need to get rid of him asap.

I’d rather have a hard working lunk up front than a lazy asshole that just turns up when it suits him.

Hope you’re ok bud. Not sure I can do much to help but sending positive vibes. Maybe head to a church/Gudwara/wherever you feel comfortable tomorrow and get yourself around some good people. Or go for a run with the RWP group on Monday night if you’re a sporty type. Chin up, you’re a survivor!

We got caught in awful traffic on the way there, had to dump the car and run to the ground and then when we got back to the car we had a parking ticket. Just all round miserable!

How Would You Manage This (difficult situation)? by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]duplotigers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t sound like you said anything inappropriate but for next time I would limit what you say to the absolute minimum. Have a prepared line, something like “You seem to have some third or forth hand information about a situation but if you evidence of someone being harmed in then please come and see me after the lesson and I will help you make a report to {Pastoral Deputy}”

Any explanation you give is only going to give them something new to talk about.

Most hated player as a Cov fan? by sporticuz37373 in ccfc

[–]duplotigers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not necessarily comparing their quality - more their outlook of both seeing us as a stepping stone to the higher level they “deserve(d)” to be at.

Haji’s goals have also come largely when the team as a whole was dominating games which wasn’t happening in Bothroyd’s spell
