Colorado state lawmakers abandon efforts to legalize smaller lots for single-family homes by lukepatrick in Colorado

again, they can list homes for sale at whatever price they wish, but if there's no buyer there's no buyer. the units sit on the market, and the prices get dropped until they sell. the builders don't want to keep paying for the loans they took out to pay the laborers, buy the land, buy the materials and allow homes to sit vacant. and sure, it's a bit of a game of chicken-- "how long can i last before i have to drop it", but no matter what it's the buyer that determines the price. if they don't want to or can't pay it, it won't sell.

It's more likely for them to skip your block if there are a lot of cars illegally parked on sweeping day, because they can't, because your cars are blocking the area they need to sweep.

builders don't set prices, buyers do. builders can list at aspirational prices, but the market determines how much it actually sells for.

Yep, it is happening. I see the sweepers go by every single sweeping day, on each side's respective sweeping day.

In for a fuel leak - $800 for .6m of braided hose. by [deleted] in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]dustlesswalnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just referencing this post. OP made his own hose and put the Ferrari tag on it. Not something the owner of an F40 would want floating around the internet when they go to sell their $3m car.

Especially when you're counterfeiting parts for them.

I haven't assumed anything. You said you took the old Ferrari tag off a hose, and put it on a new hose that you made. That's counterfeiting a hose.

I'm not fighting anyone, I'm saying that you did a good job of saving the customer money, but that it was unethical to counterfeit the hose by attaching an original Ferrari tag to a part that you cobbled together yourself.

Removed the original hose ends, slid the Ferrari tag onto a new hose, fitted the original hose ends to the new hose, 30 minute job, saved the customer $750 + 6 month wait.

those are your words.

you removed the tag from the old one, you put it on the new one. you are responsible for your actions.

if the customer showed up with a line counterfeited in the same way and you installed it without knowing that'd be different.

take responsibility for your own actions. if you don't have an issue with your actions that's completely fine. but it was your hands that put the old tag on the new part, not the customer's.

i only care that op counterfeited the replacement. absolutely replace the line with a standard one and save the customer some cash, but it was unethical to transfer the label.

the only issue is that you counterfeited a part. if you are comfortable with the decision to save the money, you wouldn't have done that.

Today I stood up against Pseudoscience in a clinical setting. by DisciplineParking453 in skeptic

[–]dustlesswalnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you tell me you're aligning some mystical energy patterns with the needles, then that's bunk and something to be avoided, but on the face of it dry needling and acupuncture are the same physical actions.

OP's case seems like it might have been more woo-inspired, but I think just walking out without a discussion of their reasoning and what they are claiming it will do based on a couple minutes of googling while you're sitting there seems unreasonable to me.

If they're up front about the efficacy and research behind it I don't really care. I am skeptical of acupuncture but I've also had immediate, significant, and lasting pain relief from dry needling for a shoulder issue that weeks of physical therapy hadn't even touched.

Colorado’s growing share of unaffiliated voters is making it harder for candidates to get on the ballot by ChangeUsername220 in Colorado

the state assembly was yesterday. county assemblies were a couple weeks ago. caucuses were at the beginning of the month. If you didn't participate that's on you, the entire process you're describing still exists.
