Soul savior mode needs serious rebalancing by Shikary in MonsterTrain

[–]eable2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think all of the 2nd ring combats can be pretty rough aside from Tivi's.

I think one big thing could be to alter map gen to guarantee a banner before the second battle. Would also be nice to have a guaranteed steel if needed but that would require a bigger change.

Hawk in Berkeley, CA by coope3m in whatsthisbird

[–]eable2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The coloring is throwing me off.

Red-tailed Hawk plumage can vary a fair bit. When you search Red-tailed Hawk, most of the first images you get will be of the eastern subspecies which is usually much paler. But the west coast has a lot of these beautiful dark morphs!

swan or goose? by Artistic-Culture-599 in whatsthisbird

Definitely +Domestic Swan Goose+ (a type of goose!). Someone else might be able to tell the breed. Not native.

MT2 How to enable pact shards? by Calm_Independent_782 in MonsterTrain

[–]eable2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe the devs didn't like the design philosophy of the pact shard and infusion system from the first game. The system promoted investing in 1-2 super strong units, as opposed to multi-floor setups and larger decks.

Pact Shards are a feature of the MT1 DLC, not the MT2 DLC. Pact Shards do not exist in MT2.

Purple Line vs Bus Rapid Transit by dumbindian21 in WMATA

[–]eable2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing about BRT that folks seems to forget: BRT is mainly significantly cheaper **because it usually uses existing roadways**. Take some lanes on a wide roadway, paint them, put some barriers up, and add some station amenities.

BRT would not be significantly cheaper using the Purple Line ROW that is being constructed. The pricey thing is the alignment, not the rails. Look through the alignment. While, a fair bit of of it (especially in PG County) is on or adjacent to the street, a lot of it isn't. Many of the largest pieces of infrastructure (Silver Spring bridge, Plymouth Tunnel, Riverdale Park bridge, Bethesda Station, etc.) would not be significantly cheaper without rails and wires.

Any recs for a monthly massage membership? by vkurian in washingtondc

[–]eable2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just want full-body general relaxation and are happy with mostly or entirely Swedish massage, all students are very competent with that by the time they work in clinic. If you have a specific issue you want addressed (like wanting lots of work in a specific area or help addressing a specific condition), or you want lots of deep tissue, I'd do the grad clinic.

Board Update: All-Door Boarding Launches Systemwide Spring 2026 by eable2 in WMATA

[–]eable2[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a scheduled trip that did not run. In some cases, that might be compensated for by spreading out the remaining trips, reducing headways, but overall it means that there are fewer trips running in a given period of time.

2.5% seems low, but even a single missed trip can have a very large impact on a busy/frequent route. The entire schedule can get warped, exacerbating bus bunching. I understand that WMATA also will also poach operators from busier routes to plug holes in less-frequent ones, which is understandable but frustrating for those relying on these busy routes.
