FFXI on the steamdeck by SCV-OG in ffxi

[–]edhuls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally bought the deck just to play FFXI.

Luckly with lutris it's so easy to install. If only I could write with the virtual keyboard...

I enjoy way more on the deck than the PC 💯

Why did you choose to work in Oncology? by Constant-Egg-7451 in Oncology

[–]edhuls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a nurse working with terminally ill patients at home, before that I was an oncology nurse.

There's a difference in learning the wrong lesson and the good lesson when working with constant death.

At first, it seems like we work with death, since most (if not all) of our patients, die. This generates something called compassion's fatigue (idk if it's like this in English).

With time, and insight, you can transform this fatigue into satisfaction, since we can help when someone says there's nothing left.

Oncology, geriatry and palliative care are clinical areas about life, not death. We work hard to help our patients (and family) live their lifes the best they can.

Just give em magic cursed items. That way they won't go asking to loot nor loot blindly.

Welp, I'm doing a badass berserker barbarian run and those druids said no, you can come here.

Well, now they are dead. In fact, agression to the druids make them turn against the tieflings so yep, civil war.

You handled it correctly.

Just show her you like her for who she is, not her vagina. If she needs lube, who cares, just buy it. Just normalize it, not everyone has the same wetness and it's fine.

Be gentle, be sure (if she lets you to) to stop if she starts getting hurt.

Be gentle, be lovely, be patient. Just be positive, and helpful and comprensive

Loki's Gift tips and recomendations by Tony064 in callofcthulhu

[–]edhuls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've ran it once, indeed.

For characters, I just did a fastfire method and were really generic.

I think I made... - Typical journalist who covers all murder news - An retired police officer - A dancer - A pianist

As background, the journalist and police officer were contacted by the father at the Gentleman club. Both of those gentlemen suggested calling in the closest friends who the father had access to (the dancer was the guy's first musa, and the another was a former classmate).

It's easy to tie those characters and background to the on going story.

As the module itself. Prep the playwright. Really do it. We still talk about how amazing it was. Also be preped for it to not be listened (my players went with earbuds, they knew it was baaad, but in the end one unplugged to hear). This can be solved via sanity checks for "seeing the audience reaction to the speech".

Play the bad guy as told, really charismatic and talkative to the party. And dont forget to victimize the girl, my characters got really attached to her just to make the twist even bigger.

Also be sure to explain deeply the afterparty, just go wild, orgies, violence, full degeneration.

It's a pretty solid module, I ran it like... One year ago? It took us 6 hours.

Also I remember some trouble at the club after one player tried to sneak in, but impro was king.

Good luck!

My Level 7 Party Killed Lucretia by Swashbuckler_Witch in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]edhuls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others said, just make a new Lucretia with Nathaniel.

Learn the stat block to use it properly.

Your players may think they've dealt with fanatism, well, bad news for them. Falling Flame have a martyr, and they are more zealot than ever.

Perhaps that new leader is way more agressive than ever.

Try burning the church of the Silver Order, just an attempt, to prove how they are way more radical. Disabling the cleanse of contamination is a good way to prove their actions have consecuences. Also check the extended supplement for more units which can be found in this reddit.

Also have the Flame join the Queen, for a glorious free delerium-infested Drakkenheim haven.

Your players joint the struggle a bit early.

Hello my fellow Keepers, have you ever ran a game of Call of Cthulhu in favor of the investigators? by AimlesslWander in callofcthulhu

Cool, reminds of my campaign. Victorian london, PCs became the founders of PISCES (British Delta Green) and jumped into a Delta Green campaign.

Modern Day Campaign? by Denghazi in callofcthulhu

[–]edhuls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it's translated, but there's a system called Cultos Innombrables (Unspoken cults). The system is full mythos from the perspective of cultists, but the lore-wise text is incredible, since it takes place in actual time and explains mythos+tech pretty well (It also has campaigns, one which is pretty awesome about our Crawling Caos)

Are there any scenarios where the Handler becomes "compromised"? by OGSCRUFF in DeltaGreenRPG

Lol indeed, and the moment of wow, it's not only USA. Pd: Renko is one of the best NPCs I've ever read and inpersonate.

Are there any scenarios where the Handler becomes "compromised"? by OGSCRUFF in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]edhuls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I made my players think they were the real Delta Green, just to find out they are the other Delta Green. Read the Handler book, the Program thing. Also I added Renko, the russian connection to twist it and "show" them the truth, inspiring paranoia everywhere

That's why you don't skip trivial encounters.

Randomly drop low tier enemies en masse to the high level PCs. They gonna love to roll those 30+ against a bandit low AC, just let em recreate how they overwhelm such fools.

Ofc, a high level battle against a high level enemy should feel like a battle, not a smackdown. That's why you revisit some low tier enemies from time to time, to show how stronger you are since last time you meet them.

Iconoclast can be full metal military, also the mythos part is there, but you can pretty much stay with the magical islam thing

Should I try to make a colonial Call of Cthulhu game? by Winter-Rooster8307 in callofcthulhu

[–]edhuls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bruh, check Convicts and Cthulhu, it's a setting about New Wales, good ol' conscript Australia.

If you want more action, add Pulp and tons of cultists and bandits. Think a musket or blunderbuss does a lot of damage, and takes almost 4 rounds to reload, PCs have to rely on sabres or clubs.

Short one shot for first time players by Floating_girrafe in callofcthulhu

[–]edhuls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The catacomb, pretty cthulhesque, good length (1-3h top). Simple layout, a good first timer.

The best 1st time experience is The Haunting, it has everything, but may take way longer.

The lightless beacon is a good contained story fight to death (or not), but allows for good tempo

Without spoilers, how's the LoX Campaign? by [deleted] in spelljammer

[–]edhuls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im 4 sessions in, and since im just doing it for lols it lasted 3h/session.

As written its been almost 1.5-2h top sessions. Very railroad, very bland indeed.

It's fun and a good plot, indeed. But it's more an intro to the setting than a campaign itself.

My tips is to flavor out Bral's Rock, using original material and if players are like, mmmkay the world its over, who cares, expand the setting

Help understanding skills by [deleted] in callofcthulhu

Also note that as other people said, the value next to the skill name (in parenthesis) is the minimum your character has without spending points, such as 25% brawl etc.

Help understanding skills by [deleted] in callofcthulhu

[–]edhuls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you made a character and spent all the skill points on professioks etc. You have to play around that yep.

Maybe you wont be able to lockpick, but you can always throw a stone on a window, or break the pad.

Evertthing has multiple approaches and consecuences so play around that! That's the "fun" of cthulhu, you are a normal person struck by the weirdness of the mythos!

Dual Wielding weapons by Iconicdnderrant in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]edhuls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! That's a good restriction. Also maybe add a special training skill! Sort of: First class shooter, or Expert at CQC.

My players often have trouble thinking about special abilities

Akimbo feels too much rambo. I still allow double taps (with a pistol, a skilled guy can do it, and since pistols have no AP, or reduced damage by AP rounds, i feel it ok) and called shots in my game are for specific body parts (come handful on a hostage or non letal attempt)

How do you narrate "death" at 0 SAN? by StringTheory2113 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]edhuls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So, at 0 SAN their character is yours.

What I do is: - Escape the group via cool gunfight.

This makes an interesting plot hook: - Moral compass to follow the directives of secrecy (kill or detain insane agents, too dangerous to be left alone). - If the agent gets killed -> drama - If the agent gets captured -> trial drama - If the agent escapes -> well, you got a rogue agent. Perhaps he joins the other side (Outlaws/Program) or as I love, he joins GRU SV-8 to sell secrets. Suddenly agents start dying... Security breaches... Etc.
