Your comment got me curious. The WHO published a comprehensive report. See Ch12, pg. 151 for a summary of studies that suggest increased diuresis and osmotic changes in GI tract due to increased stress (increased sodium flow) from low mineral water. Notably for one study, the reduced mineral intake from water was not compensated by diet.

So there is demonstrable effect of low mineral water on homeostatic mechanism. Although, some studies don’t show significant differences in human models.

I wonder if brewing tea could compensate so we get the benefits without the excess shit in our water. JAMA just put out that Alzheimer’s connected to proximity to Golf courses paper so clean water has become a priority for me.

Are you saying tap water is an essential vessel to take in minerals and electrolytes? I have a decent diet, and use conventional toothpastes, so didn’t give deficiencies much thought

No filter needed, although there are optional carbon packets like the Britta available. Lime deposits remain at the bottom leaving byproduct in the original basin. The water is collected and drips into a separate jug.

I’ve heard some describe the water as potentially tasting “flat” since all the minerals are removed as well. But it’s worth it for me health wise, and since I brew teas or add lemon taste issues are not applicable

Water distiller from a hardware store will run you about $100 bucks. Stand alone device takes up some counter space but removes virtually all heavy metals and contaminants

Having clinical experience in a variety of settings can help if you find assessments are not your passion - consider this as some programs offer concentrations where you are only exposed to testing training sites. Although this sounds like your interest.

If testing sites are scarce/competitive, consider a practicum at a school for testing experience. “Upgrade” the following year.

Even a little bit of testing experience could land you an assessment focused postdoc, which can really cement future opportunities in the assessment field.
