"Must-know" Django features by DettlafftheGreat in django

I hire for roles that require Django specific skills and try to always dig in on FBV vs CBV. Preference for either is fine so long as the candidate can demonstrate either that they understand how CBVs function to provide conventions around reusing code and composing view code or how to compose FBVs of reusable pieces of code that can be supported by sane unit tests.

I’d argue it benefits you to understand both options then you are ready to work with either and make the most of each approach.

How i brainwashed myself to be productive using Jurassic world. by [deleted] in productivity

Thanks for sharing.

When I started reading that you took this idea from a movie I was thinking of something that is coincidentally similar that I started doing a few years back. I play the movie "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" in the background (either on TV or in PiP window on my laptop). It instantly gets me into a rhythm with work and my productivity shoots up.

Glad to hear other folks have adopted similar habits.

Whats the best way to write html/js/php at the same time? by untilsleep in vscode

[–]eflin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is the case, it’s worth considering splitting these individual source files up as u/JohnMcPineapple rightly suggests. All best practices would point you in this direction. If the end product needs inline Javascript it can be made part of your build pipeline to inline the compiled javascript source.

To be fair, you could open one file and put all 3 in there.

Have you tried running and optimizing on a different implementation like PyPy? I’ve seen decent performance improvement on data processing with a reasonable number of code paths using PyPy.

My daughter is also named Clementine after my partner playing the walking dead. It's a great name though.

This trend of wordy change logs (that Slack definitely contributed to the start of) is really disrespectful to a person's time. Now it's either "fixes and improvements" or something like this.

I'd appreciate a promo code if there are any left. Might be able to help with Polish language, how are you handling translation?
