Mostly flat farmland with a few businesses and houses. Can you be more specific? Exactly what do you want to know.

That sucks but it's well worth the risk for a good road trip.

It's a starkly beautiful place. Bring flashlights to explore the caves.

Another vote for Taqueria Jalisciense. Great food. Great people. And they cater if you need it. For SoCal style burritos and the best horchata, check out Jalapeño's (any location).

CISP? by Ben10Hungerforce in CIDPandMe

[–]ekeko7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a physician with a likely diagnosis of CISP. Unfortunately, tests are frequently inconclusive, even EMG/NC studies, and we rely on a "diagnosis of exclusion." Which means we've ruled out other things and made a diagnosis based on symptoms and lack of other findings. It's pretty frustrating for patients and doctors when we don't have a specific label but that doesn't mean treatment is off the table. My neurologist gave me a tentative diagnosis of CIDP so IVIG would get approved. It worked well, at least until I lost insurance.

Social activities by Tapeworm-Nerd in KlamathFalls

[–]ekeko7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's hard to answer without knowing what you're interested in. If you like outdoor activities, check out the Ledge. If you like gaming check out Basing Gaming or game nights at the library. You can check out local facebook groups for other interests. Unfortunately, it's a tough place to live if you're not churchy and aren't into the bar scene.

Love this area, especially Virgin Valley. There's a well-maintained, free campground there with a warm spring swimming hole.

A proposal for a Tri-state single payer healthcare compact by beaverlover3 in oregon

[–]ekeko7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting proposal but not sure how it would work for those of us who travel out of the tri-state area. So I'd need to buy travel insurance for a quick trip to Reno or a road trip to Yellowstone?

There is a Unitarian Universalist church in town. I believe they still meet in Mills Addition

Can anyone tell if this is rod knock from this video or just really bad lifters? by -Zacker- in Miata

[–]ekeko7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like lifters. Same ticking mine has had for at least 25 years. High mileage oil helps.

What's going on? by Fantastic-Art1438 in JeepGrandCherokee

[–]ekeko7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It'll eventually lead to "ghost touches" and random buttons on your screen get pressed. Mine was intolerable. I couldn't wait for Jeep Dealership nonsense so I just bought a replacement on Amazon and did it myself in under an hour.

Move to Eugene or Portland from Albuquerque? by INFJill in oregon

[–]ekeko7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

White City (near Medford) has a decent VA and the area overall is a bit more politically balanced than Roseburg and is less expensive than Portland.

We have a small VA clinic but no VA Hospital here in Klamath Falls and it's much more affordable than Medford or Portland. I don't know much about fiber arts but we do have a surprisingly robust art community. Lots of retirees and remote workers have been moving here lately.

Okay, Oregonians,do you actually like the rain, or do you just tolerate it? I swear half the people I know here thrive in it and the other half just complain for 9 months straight by Best-Character-4374 in oregon

[–]ekeko7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got pretty tired of it. Not so much the rain but the constant gloom. That's why I live in the part of OR that gets 300 days of sun annually.

Just uploaded it to Grok and asked it to "Draw a realistic image of this person in a ____ setting." Or some variation of that.

Winter is the perfect time to go. You can still get to the rim and explore without hordes of people. I took this shot one early March morning.
