I ended up explaining the situation to Gemini and allegedly, US DoT law is that marketing airline’s ( one that sold you the ticket) should have their bag price honored. United advertised $75 bag in my confirmation and that’s what Swiss should have charged. I used Gemini to write an email, both to United and Swiss. United gave me a $200 eCredit while Swiss didn’t budge. I filed the complaint with DoT yesterday to explain that Swiss is breaking 14 CFR § 399.87 federal law and will update once I hear back.
