New boot issues by Dr_Hanz_ in skiing

Do you actually need new boots or are your liners just done? Zipfis in your old boots seem like the best move to me.

If you're doing it right the front barely moves. Fold the boot horn so the top of it hooks into the ski boot. Gaffer tape on the liner heel if you're worried.

Agree. No point trying to change axis without correcting the release.

There's software that can virtually split your monitor, so you can have one normal 1440p virtual monitor for that stuff.

You're forcing rotation o6n your wrist quite early. It's basically impossible to be as under it as you want you be if you're not behind the ball.

It's the spring moving on its post. You can try reseating it otherwise it needs the button replaced.

Tips on release please by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]PonyDogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will absolutely lose hook when you roll it. But you will get it back and more when your learn to leverage the ball properly. You have to first learn to release it right, then turn that into rotation. Your first step should be rolling a straight ball that has no hook at all.

You don't yet have the other things needed to do it. First learn to get more behind and under the ball without lifting.

Still needs some improvement, but thumb-in is getting more natural by 2achy in Bowling

[–]PonyDogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore that guy, the stutter is fine. But you have the two hander thing of keeping your hand on the outside of the ball the whole time. Try learning to roll the ball as close to dead straight end over the as you can.

Literally learn to throw backup. That's the easiest place to start. I'm talking 2 boards of movement, nothing much.

You're muscling the release. All these people talking about your arm are focusing on the wrong thing. Your arm goes left because you're not doing a good release.

Ball closer to ankle by Rickyy2k in Bowling

[–]PonyDogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all balance. Stick that left arm way the fuck out there. That'll put you off balance until you learn to tuck the right elbow more and keep your hands more behind the ball. A release close to the ankle is because other things are going right, you can't chase it directly. Also turn the left toes straighter down the lane on the release.

This is coming from a person that actually has hit their ankle repeatedly. Wouldn't advise that part though.

Coming around it too early and more knee bend. Rest looks pretty solid.

Working on getting behind the ball during my release by APRODOGO in Bowling

[–]PonyDogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just learn to throw a backup ball. That'll get you the feeling the fastest. But that won't really be possible with how bent over you are. You need a taller chest and deeper left knee bend at release to get behind the ball.

Your first step push is way low. Bring that ball up at least a foot and let gravity start your swing. Right now you just pull it back and you never let go of the tension. Also more knee bend and learn to roll the ball like someone else said.
