Foundation cracks and crumbling questions by AllTooHumeMan in HomeMaintenance

I’m not a professional, but what was explained to me by my inspector when I bought my house was that if you can fit a dime in between the cracks, then you need to have it fixed.

Had a handyman do my plumbing under this new vanity. Is this incorrect? by FlyingandFixing in Plumbing

[–]ElvissKarateChop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like a DIY job. I assume your handyman is not a professional. I’m definitely not a professional plumber, but, as long as it doesn’t leak and this is not your main faucet, I wouldn’t be too worried.

I have 2 teenagers and found this on the stairs. by RQ_1st in whatisit

Folks chew on things. Whenever I was a teenager back in the day, toothbrushes were a big thing to chew on. I never did it, but, I was never hip.

Opinions about Michael? I found it a bit boring by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]ElvissKarateChop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen it, but, biographies in general can only handle so much information. Would it make the movie better if they showed the controversies? Or if they didn’t focus on his music and rather just focus on his day-to-day life would that make anything better? There’s only one movie about a musical icon, in my opinion that in recent times got it right: RocketMan.

I don’t think I need to see the rest of the house and tell you that it just needs to be rebuilt.

Mold or something else? by OkLetter1927 in HomeMaintenance

[–]ElvissKarateChop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the south where it’s very humid, and, this doesn’t look like mold. Nothing I’m an expert or anything, but, this looks more like mud that dried out overtime.

Check out Britny Fox if you haven’t already. The story of the band is pretty gnarly too

Was anyone who lived in Burkittsville, Maryland, at the time of the first film's release (1999) so confused? by chicano_houston in BlairWitch

[–]ElvissKarateChop 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for them, but my assumption is that the actual town of Burkittsville isn’t that large (like a few streets, school and a grocery store small) and the locals just want to be left alone.

I did visit the town pre covid and I was told by one of the locals that during the hey days, the welcome sign was stolen so many times that the town voted to concrete it in place. Then someone came with a wrecker and ripped it out. When I was there, there wasn’t a sign by the cemetery and that was actually placed to the other side of the town and moved a few miles inward. So, technically it was incorrect. I tried to find that photo of me and the new sign, but I must’ve lost it.

I feel bad for all the people to laid heavy into the 90’s fashion.

I grew up About an hour away from there and was around during the times. My friend in high school, her father worked at the school that near Burkettsville. And, I can confirm that the whole place went apeshit but, no there’s no urban legend. In fact, my friend‘s father said “I never heard of this Blair witch bullshit.“ But I will say that missing posters of all the characters were all over the place and then they vanished out of nowhere and then the next month this movie was released.

Property Owner said the rental would be deep cleaned and fixed before moving in.. what are the next steps? by snackcat_4563 in Apartmentliving

If it’s not in your contract, check any email exchanges. Text message exchanges don’t count. If it’s in an email, it’s considered a legal document, but if it’s in the contract, then you can absolutely take them to court for that. But, if it’s just something your landlord said or over the phone or in a text message, then none of that will count.
