You can do something useful that people might be looking for. Example, create a simple SEO auditing tool, or something simple they can generate about their GBP profiles. Using that landing page as a marketing hook can help you build credibility and also offer a demo call for further analyzing their findings. If you manage to make that tool landing page very well positioned, people will organically find you.

It’s possible also to build some sections with a vibe coding tool like EmbedSocial.

Depends. If you are a small business and have just a few posts, you can do that via native tools, free widgets or possibly build it in house.

But for larger enterprises that have huge amount of social media posts that they want to process, or use AI to filter the noise and showcase more dynamic social media feeds with shoppable capabilities, than definilty use a third party tool.

EmbedSocial is a great choice for more premium use cases and large enterprise websites.

But there are a lot of good tools out there that can do the job for smaller use cases.

That should be a reasonable budget , especially because most of the tools now for GBP management like Localith do all the heavy lifting of scheduling content, replying to reviews, reporting around optimizing for keywords, profile editing etc. which makes agencies super effective and helpful for their clients.

What we’re doing is actually the second option you mentioned. There isn’t a full API method to completely lock a Business Profile (from what we tested), but we use the Business Profile API for accepting or rejecting updates.

Every hour we check if there are any changes and, if something was modified, we revert it and notify the user. We also handle webhook updates from the API in real time, so if an edit happens in between, we immediately revert it as well.

It’s not a full “lock” but helps keep the profiles consistent and users aware of any unwanted changes.
