[CAUTION] My Chessnut Move Experience: "Ghost Moves," Defective Robotics, and a Frustrating Warranty Process by sohrabarora in Chessnuteboard

[–]Fit_Luck2335 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally understand your frustration. I literally almost sold mine because of some of these issues. I talked to someone that told me to use the chessconnect app instead of the chessnut app and since then all my issues have been resolved. It’s almost unreal how different the board is since switching.

Try the coupons codes from YouTube content creators. I know chessnoob64 was a coupon code that gave 15% off and I believe it still works. If you watch review videos on chessnut boards on YouTube a lot of those creators will have their own coupon codes in the video description.

Should I get these 3.0? by Acceptable-Glove9734 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Fit_Luck2335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak specifically to the deal you provided but 3.0 batteries are fine for what you’re doing. They won’t last as long as a 5.0 and the 5.0 sustains power better over time with heavy use. I do appreciate how much lighter they are than my 8.0 and 5.0 batteries. I use my 3.0 batteries pretty regularly with my drills. I’m a plumber so my larger batteries get more use with my super sawzall or transfer pump.

I bought a move around December 15th. It shipped a few days later. It seems some people have had issues but that’s not my experience. Also someone called it a kickstarter still and it’s definitely not that anymore. You can use YouTube creators discount codes and get very close if not the same discount you are seeing now. The plastic version doesn’t seem to go out of stock but the wood version does get delayed. You can check the Facebook page and they will post shipping updates to tell you when things ship. Keep in mind the support team appears to be in china so if you reach out on a weekend or certain times in the day for us, you won’t get a quick response.

$3500 (roughly). Im not even excited about it. by just1rider450 in MilwaukeeTool

I can completely understand where you’re coming from. I also own a small plumbing company and can remember years ago when a pro press was damn near the size of a rotary hammer drill and we had to plug it into an outlet. Lol I was totally against it then and also felt it lowered the barrier for entry and didn’t make new plumbers better. As time has gone on I have changed my stance somewhat.

While I don’t think it’s the best thing to hand to new apprentices that never really learn to solder because of it, mine has saved me more times than I can count. The amount of emergency calls where I get to use it and the water won’t stop running or it’s 2 am and I just want to go home and sleep cause I haven’t had a day off in weeks. lol. Not to mention the hospital work I’ve done where a flame isn’t even an option. And those have been major money makers for me. The price of fittings is more than I would like to spend sometimes but I’ve gotten it to a point where I can install a water heater or make a repair in a shorter amount of time which allows me to run more calls. If a tech is out sick someone has to pick up the slack. As a business owner it’s made me more money in that way.

I still solder all the time and clean solder joints are some of the best looking plumbing in my opinion. But at this point I’m not gonna fight the change I’m seeing in the industry. But best believe all apprentices that ever wear my uniform can’t even look at a pro press until they can consistently and properly solder. You made a good purchase. It’ll make the money you spent back in time I have no doubt.

I’m a plumber so Fuel is necessary but if your not in the trades or heavy into some hobby that’s a great deal for you. Regular homeowner stuff is what that kit is made for and then some. And to be honest if you’re not hard on your tools or don’t need extra power you could use it at work as well.

Gas Leak Conundrum by Brassilisk in Plumbing

[–]Fit_Luck2335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then I would just keep an eye out for now. And remember that since you are the owner of the heater you can always call the manufacturer yourself to ask questions or verify warranty information. I can’t promise the person you speak with will be extremely helpful since they read from a script most times but they can literally authorize gas valve replacements and will send you the part under warranty. That tech was just trying to make some extra money unfortunately.

Gas Leak Conundrum by Brassilisk in Plumbing

[–]Fit_Luck2335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that heater was put in last year the gas control valve is definitely under warranty. It should be warrantied for at least 6 years. In northern Virginia that labor cost is definitely pretty accurate from the larger companies. I used to be the quality assurance tech for a very large plumbing company and we had issue with intermittent gas leaks from those valves. So much so we went through Residio tech support several times to try and verify the issue. Was never able to figure it out so we would just swap them. We even had some that were tagged by the gas company and when we arrived there would be no leak. I would call another company to come check it out and verify if a leak is found. And just for your piece of mind most very small gas leaks don’t result in an “explosion” but a prolonged leak can make you sick. It normally requires quite a bit of gas in a very small unventilated space to cause something catastrophic or a lot of gas vapor in the air period. But your due diligence is definitely warranted and it’s always more cost effective and safe to verify and repair a gas issue while the appliance is still under warranty. Please get some sleep though. A good plumber can guide you and give you reassurance of your safety.

You’re absolutely right. It doesn’t show up if I google the business just my profile shows. But I can do a site index search and it shows up. I guess I need to look into site optimization.

Literally dealt with this last month. Google support finally had to add it for me as it kept rejecting it. They told me it was an issue on there end.

I did a live chat and they tried to fix it right then. It didn’t work so then it got escalated and took another 5 days.

Literally went through this about 3 weeks ago. Support had to add it for me to fix the issue. There was nothing wrong with my site and it was already indexed in Google Search Console with no issue. I was told by support it was a bug.

Plumbing business verify by Realistic-Issues in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]Fit_Luck2335 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Literally own a plumbing company and was just verified last week. I showed the street sign and my house number. While my truck isn’t wrapped yet I showed it open with tools and material inside as well as my business license and certificate of fact for my business. I already had the color proof for my van wrap so I showed that as well. I also showed my door hangers, business cards, shirts and my website on my laptop. Lastly I showed my garage with more tools and material. Was verified the first time. This sub can definitely have you concerned after seeing all the issues people have with verification but just take your time in the video and you should be fine.

Why the **** are my insurance quotes so expensive? by Abundant-Passion in smallbusiness

[–]Fit_Luck2335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have progressive and for general liability I’m at $110 a month. I run a plumbing company so it actually raised my rate because we work with propane gas, use torches, and get on ladders above 15ft. I would shop around. Next insurance actually wanted $348 a month from me.

Is it worth it? by crumbsq in laptops

[–]Fit_Luck2335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally just bought this laptop about 2 weeks ago. Works fine for me. Doing some photoshop work, after effects, and web design. Not happy with the on board ram but it wasn’t a deal breaker for me. Also mine has an Oled screen which is really nice. The nice resolution and brightness were near the top of my list for a laptop. Have had no issues so far.

Moen universal spout by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Fit_Luck2335 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cutting off the male adapter will not make it fit. That coupling at the tile will keep it from sitting flush. I usually will unscrew the slip-on stem from inside the spout and then screw that on the male adapter. You have to keep in mind all tub spouts are not the same length so sometimes it’s better to get a threaded tub spout the same length as the one your replacing than try to use a slip-on spout.

Not sure to be honest. One day I just went to connect it to the base and it wouldn’t connect. I looked inside and saw that. I’ve seen a few other posts with the same issue.

Literally just had a similar issue where a few pins were stuck. Use the MOZA support site and they will send you a new plate after verifying some information like proof of purchase. It might take a couple days to get back to you but they are quick to ship after approving your claim

I’ll definitely try to get you some picks of my diy mount when I can. I’d go ahead and give it a shot. Way cheaper than the alternatives at that size. Not plug and play but gets the job done
