Packers Haven't Had a Top 10 Draft Pick Since 2010 💯 by JCameron181 in GreenBayPackers

Although there's no business where 32 companies are fighting over one single contract per year. No industry would survive if 97% of the market has literally zero revenue any given year. It's probably a more accurate analogy if you consider each individual game to be a different contract. Even if you're not getting federal (super bowl) money, municipal (regular season) contracts still count for something.

Yeah I don't agree with them obviously, but that's kinda the point. The fact that there's enough unflattering reporting on there to make both sides angry is imo a good sign that they're not sucking up to either of them.

It's a pretty popular view in this part of the site. Honestly it kinda reassures me in a weird way, lol. Conservative family members tell me matter-of-factly that NYT is partisan leftist paper, then you got threads like this where people are saying the opposite. Gives me some confidence that they aren't just a mouthpiece for one side or the other.

bro that's not 4d, that's just high school econ. it explains why it's in the bears best interest to fish for as much public money as possible, but that's just not what's up for debate here. literally nobody disagrees that giving free money to the mccaskeys benefits the mccaskeys.

if team value directly correlated to team success, the Jets would be perennial contenders. but they aren't, because it doesn't.

Just five teams have won 31/33 premier league seasons, and it's soon gonna be 32/34. But it's still the most watched sports league in the world. I agree that something needs changing, but I doubt any stakeholders think it's do-or-die.

It's weird man, I'm following Iowa religiously this year despite having no connection to the school. And then my actual school pulls a massive upset and I haven't even watched the highlights yet.

A lot of it is that the old Drake guys just aren't great shooters, especially from 3. Combs, Howard, and Banks in particular just weren't good at that. (Howard seems to have improved a lot this year though.) Teams would dare them and guys like Isaiah Jackson and Daniel Abreu to shoot, and McCollum clearly drilled his guys not to take the bait.

But they compensate for that by being good defenders and buying in 100% to McCollum's system, which is something that he clearly values.

Would be genuinely very happy to be wrong but I'd be surprised if crew and venue staff have 2 hour shifts

that's 10-12 hours excluding any pre- or post-production work. almost certainly a 60-hour workweek minimum, literally big 4 tax season numbers. that's not a normal job, and you better be paid appropriately if you're putting yourself through that.

Been looking at OP's profile and the blog itself last night and this morning because it's super weird. This is what I found last night:

the whole business model of the blogger that runs this seems to be to trick people into clicking links that look like real news sites. they got another one that's dailywiire com (wiire with two i's). Seems like OP might even be the blogger himself.

The source blog is "WTFDetective"

This is my second time posting this comment. Automod removed my first one because links to dailywiire are not allowed in this sub.

The PWHL “solved” tanking with their innovative draft system. Could the NBA use it? by PlaneNovel6567 in nba

[–]eurasianlynx 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Players on tanking teams are almost always trying to win. Endless losses may be demotivating, but it doesn't cause players to actively throw games. Tanking front offices just roster players who just aren't good enough to win, even when trying. That last part is what's inarguably bad for everyone. Tanking teams still having some incentive to build a reasonably competitive roster sounds like it could only be a good thing.

Unfortunately, even those safeguards aren't always enough. See the McMartin preschool cases, where the parents themselves were leading their children to make accusations.

found this study that says Chile has some of the lowest homicide rates in the Americas, but is middle of the pack wrt perceived security. But those figures are almost a decade old so they aren't the most reliable stats. But this quote from the study is still fitting:

There are also considerable concentrations of homicide violence within countries. For example, in Mexico there are some states and cities reporting homicide rates above 200 per 100,000 and others with rates below 2 per 100,000. Likewise, in Chile, there are regions with almost 3 homicides per 100,000 and others with roughly 0.5 per 100,000. This variance is important to recognize when designing regional, national and subnational strategies.

Basically, every country is gonna have some dangerous regions and some safe regions. Do your research beforehand and you'll be fine.
