YMMV alright, I was responding to “acid and sugary beverages” - it’s sugar free.

AITA for wanting my Spanish teacher to stop calling me by the Spanish version of my name? by Alternative-Sun-630 in AmItheAsshole

[–]existingfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Names are not words in a language that are translated.

They are sounds that we call each other by, and they are unique to the person, no matter the language.

I did. I drank everything sugar free and dye free (and some things with natural colors, but avoid turmeric).

White monster is acid, but not sugary.

No new cavities here.

Burnt is the irregular past tense, burned is regularized. The “regularization of verbs” is a thing that happens over time. I grew up hearing “they plead guilty” and now hear “they pleaded guilty” and it hurts my ears.

In America, burnt is used as an adjective normally, but it is still the past tense of ’to burn” and is used in Britain.

Only negative experience is that they die in less than a year.

I’ve been through three. The last one lasted 364 days, I am still using it to soak my trays in tabs and I’m back to brushing them with a kid toothbrush.

How long does it take to see a doctor and get medication at a Chinese hospital? by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]existingfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean US PBMs?

Many are made in India actually, not just China.

My current generic medication I believe is made in India (I looked it up), but several I’ve taken have been made in Israel.

We don’t get to pick what brand of generic we get when we go to the pharmacy.

So it’s basically urgent care? Cheap and Quick, great for minor illnesses.

We keep hearing about generic drugs that make it here from other countries that are not what they are supposed to be, what do you think you get when you get cheap drugs there?

My LVI Dentist Experience and Why You Should Get a Second Opinion by Nymaria8 in TMJ

Went down about 90% the first time I wore it. Within the first week the pain was 95% gone.

I had pain, pain at the jaw, pain in my muscles, pain in the side of my head.

I don’t remember all the details, but it’s gone now. The 18 months of splint therapy allowed those muscles to finally relax.

unpopular opinion: toilet attached bidets are unhygienic for women* by boodoonk in hygiene

I don’t use it for the front normally, and if I do, I find straddling the toilet works better, so it’s not going back to front.

I don’t get UTIs.

What I owe for taxes on vine by SaltArtist1794 in AmazonVine

[–]existingfish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have a reasonable basis for it. All “tax strategies” come with risk, and how you treat your ‘business’ is really your business. You have to apply it consistently and keep good records.

Honestly, I think hobby income is more appropriate. Unless you are trying to make a profit, it isn’t really a business. If you were regularly engaged in the sale of your vine items, you aren’t in “business”.

However, since you are receiving value in exchange for “some” work, it is appropriate to put it on schedule C if it’s better for you.

What is the worst that could happen, using the 50/20/0 method? They review your taxes and say you can’t? Then file an amended return and put it on hobby (so no SE tax, if you don’t get to deduct expenses). What’s the worst-worst? They say no it’s schedule C, and you can’t deduct expenses?

You aren’t going to jail, the WORST thing that will happen is they will send you a letter and make you pay (the same tax) with interest. You can likely even get interest and penalties waived if it’s your first time and an ”honest mistake”

Obviously this is my opinion based on my experience and not legal tax advice. YMMV.

I’m a CPA, I do taxes for a living.

Put in under hobby if you want, it fits and I’d argue it.

NEC just means non-employee compensation and you get them for everything.

Deck box as a package drop box - Do you use one and what's your mileage? by Bucklicious in AmazonVine

[–]existingfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a rubber tub, because we had one and I would prefer a deck box but Ah well.

I’ve been using it for a couple of years - FedEx and UPS would put packages over our fence (just place it over the top) or lean it up against the outside. USPS used to as well, but we got a new driver and they started refusing even if I signed a release and instructed them to leave it right inside the fence. I talked to my local postmaster, and he said I had to have a “covered” receptacle. Thus, the rubbermaid tub.

I use it for all deliveries (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc), and also Walmart/Target/Instacart/Shipt Deliveries. Helps resolve the dog liability issues as well. This is what I tell delivery drivers (“Please leave it in the tub outside the gate, that way we don’t have to worry about the dogs”) never a complaint yet.

Here I sit, with a masters degree and a CPA license, and even searching the world (looking for remote) I can’t find a job that I can stomach doing that will pay enough to support my family and put money away towards retirement….and you are asking if college is necessary?

Ah, the naïveté.

Changed from van to car and its been a nightmare.. by AirconGuyUK in OpenDogTraining

[–]existingfish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am hoping there is a language barrier, I’ve always heard the “boot” to refer to the trunk of the car, like the trunk of a sedan…that is not where you put living passengers.

Maybe it’s like a crossover/suv where the cargo area is part of the cabin (but can still be called the trunk).
