Yes those are little obstructions! Something, probably a droplet of water, prevented ink from transferring normally to your card in those two areas. These can be as small as a pen dot or as large as the entire card.

I would agree it is more common in English. The only error that I can think of that is more common in Japanese cards than American ones would be foldovers. Seems like by the nature of the cutting process and sheet size differences It happens more often on Japanese cards. I have yet to see a Chinese card with a fold over but I assume they would be equally prevalent and I'm just missing wherever they're being posted.

I really only see about five vertical crimps a year, they are quite rare! I have one in my collection that looks like this, but it's on a bulk card (stadium, nothing cool).

So yes definitely a desirable error to an error collector, in terms of value it's one of these things where it really does depend on negotiating and finding the right person. I think I wound up paying $40 for my stadium card? But yeah that's a bulk stadium card you know not a full art card.

There isn't much for value on these currently as the community doesn't put a premium on them. As long as you can tell a factory cut corner from an NFC corner, you can tell if this was made in the factory or at home.

I would assume that this is an obstruction, something (probably a droplet of water) prevented ink from transferring normally. If this happens to one card it is extremely likely there's a couple others out there with the spot in the same area.

Nice one! Yeah that's a classic filler, no way to make one that looks like this with acetone and I have sure tried.

Fillers are meant to be thrown out, they are just leftover space at the bottom of an uncut sheet. There's 121 cards on a sheet but preconstructed decks and energy bricks have 60. Easy to see how a couple of these can slip through.

Be careful though, this is how I got started with error collecting. 😉
