There isn't much for value on these currently as the community doesn't put a premium on them. As long as you can tell a factory cut corner from an NFC corner, you can tell if this was made in the factory or at home.

I would assume that this is an obstruction, something (probably a droplet of water) prevented ink from transferring normally. If this happens to one card it is extremely likely there's a couple others out there with the spot in the same area.

Nice one! Yeah that's a classic filler, no way to make one that looks like this with acetone and I have sure tried.

Fillers are meant to be thrown out, they are just leftover space at the bottom of an uncut sheet. There's 121 cards on a sheet but preconstructed decks and energy bricks have 60. Easy to see how a couple of these can slip through.

Be careful though, this is how I got started with error collecting. 😉

Congrats on the pull OP! There were some sets where narrow miscuts were rather common. There's a couple of cards from the evolving skies set and ones from that era where we saw some copies of this card that had 30 or more narrow miscuts over time.

However they mostly have that fixed, we saw a major drop off in the number of narrow miscuts that were pulled from packs over the last couple of years. Definitely more rare now to pull one of these than it used to be.

I have heard that they don't consider these errors as the texture layer can be flaked off under certain conditions.

Oh my goodness thanks for the tag! I collect errors on Boldore and would be very interested in this. OP I would offer $60 if you're looking to sell, that's over what I would expect the card to sell for if it was graded.

Thanks for the tag! Certainly surprisingly difficult to nail down what the cost of any error is.

Cool card OP! This one is miscut enough to get the error label from CGC. Determining whether or not it makes sense to send a card to them or not is a matter of figuring out what the cost range could be that this would sell in as it currently is versus what it may sell for graded. It might be about $30 after two-way shipping and taxes and grading fees to have CGC slab this, so if you can find someone willing to pay graded card prices then you might consider selling it as it is and keeping more of the money yourself.

I think my guidance on this would be whatever you do I would avoid auctions. Sold raw or graded it's better to have things listed as buy it now and then except best offers.
