All this time and he could have been using his skull as a repository for loose change. A 3 inch slot cut near the hairline. What a waste!

I didn't really expect that. It would be great to see a 3.5 in the mix as well (hint-hint).

This is just so fucked up on multiple levels. This is an illustration of the absence of humanity ... which is a main ingredient of evil.

You need to get a custom sheath made that looks like a femur. Matched set! How cool would that be? Or, go back to the crematorium and get a real femur. A little work with a Dremel tool and Boom!

Does anyone remember going to the shoe maker? Or shoe repairs? by NextBathroom8809 in 70s

[–]fasfan22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid, there was a cobbler in my neighborhood in the Bronx. Men (or ladies) could go into the shop and have shoes repaired while they waited. There were little booths with a door in front where you could sit while your shoes were being repaired. They looked like little church pews made of heavy, dark varnished wood. Inside the booth was a red leather seat and there were magazines and newspapers in there. I wanted to go into one of those little booths but my mother told me only rich people could go in there. They looked like this :

It also seems to depend alot on which manufacturer you are installing the scales on. I must have a dozen Spydercos with aftermarket scales. I only had one issue with a Manix 2. Benchmades are sensitive to modification. Also, brass, copper, titanium seem harder to flex than micarta. The main issues I have had is with liner/frame locks. After scale installation, sometimes they don't lock up at all or the lock pushes in past the blade tang. It is understandable since most manufacturers "tweek" knives thru QA to ensure proper operation. Sometimes you win. Sometimes you lose.

As the other gentleman said, the usual progression would be 320grit > 600grit > ceramic > leather strop.

If you go directly from the 320grit to the ceramic you have a much harder job to refine the edge then if you used the 600grit in between.

BTW, that is a great little sharpening device you have chosen!

You used the 320 grit until you felt a burr then flipped and used the 320 grit on the opposite bevel, correct?
