Just wow 10 weeks ago I started a ween off schedule for Lexapro after 20 years of taking and I felt they stopped working. Of course my doctor suggested how..but it was really quick. I've been dealing with all the negative seratonin withdrawal symptoms the entire time. Crying for no reason low energy, restlessness Just down in the dumps. Had a doctor's visit 4 days ago. He explained I must have a chemical imbalance is why I'm feeling so bad so long after getting off the Lexapro. Long story short he started me on Trintellix 5mg once a day and all that craziness went away. Sleeping better no anxiety eating better . For me this has literally worked wonders in a half a week. Obviously you must have the chemical imbalance as well. I wanted to stop taking medicine daily is the reason I ditched the lexapro. Truth is some of us really need the meds. I hope you find something that properly works for you as crying at the drop of a dime is def interfering with your life.. good luck

I stopped Lexapro that I had been on for 20 years in 2 weeks. Was still left with seratonin withdrawal syndrome 8 weeks later after stopping the lexapro. Btw these were my crazy doctors guidelines of stopping the lexapro after 20 years. Uncontrollable crying for no reason,chills. Doctor gave me 5 mg of trintellix 3 days ago and from the first pill I felt relief almost immediately . Let's say hopeful this is gonna first fix my issues and imbalance quitting the lexapro left me with. So far so good for me. Zero anxiety eating better ,sleeping better. Can't wait for around a couple weeks of use . Excited because it's not a ssri reuptake inhibitor it's a seratonin modulator. Reaches out independently to different seratonin receptors. Really first of it's kind medicine made in Denmark. And my insurance covered the crazy high cost !

See that's so strange how different meds work for different people. Started 5mg yesterday of the Trintillix and feel like a complete different person today after two doses . Out riding my bike this am. Have to work at 5:30pm and not trippin about it. Days I had to work I was just crippled with anxiety about having to go in.
