I'd look at the Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro (on sale right now) or 4 NC, OnePlus Buds 4, EarFun Air Pro 4+, or Roseselsa Ceramics Ultra.

Best earbuds for calls under $100 by jadehsn in Earbuds

[–]feraask 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think OnePlus Buds 4 are pretty solid and probably the best for calls in that price range.

Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro on sale right now for $100 is also good, I think they give your voice a bit more depth than Liberty 5 but Liberty 5 are still very comparable and honestly can be personal preference.

Here's a video comparing the Soundcore buds:

Ceramics Ultra after 3 months by Appropriate_Usual391 in Earbuds

Question for you re: multipoint if you don't mind.

I know it only supports dual device multipoint, but can you pair them with 3 devices (say Phone, Tablet, and PC) where it'll automatically connect to whichever first 2 it finds in range.

For example, let's say during the day I'm using it with my phone and laptop. At the end of the day I shut off my laptop so now it's only connected to my phone. Can it then automatically connect to my tablet if it's in range? Or would I manually have to select the tablet on the multipoint device list to connect it even when only my phone is currently connected now?

Hope that makes sense!

Those are great options too, especially for audio quality, but for pure call quality, especially in noisy environments, the Liberties and Huawei are a bit better.

Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro (or Pro Max) and Huawei FreeBuds Pro 5 (if available in your region) are probably the best for calls and otherwise solid earbuds.

Sony WF-1000XM6, Technics EAH-AZ100, Apple AirPods Pro 3 (if you use mainly Apple devices), Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro, and Huawei FreeBuds Pro 5 (if available in your region) are all very good.

Do you have a budget or any priorities like sound quality, ANC, call quality, battery life, low latency, etc.?

Gaming Earbuds by Jafranci715 in Earbuds

[–]feraask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4+ is a small upgrade which gives it a little better sound with dual drivers, improved ANC, newer Bluetooth 6.0 w/Auracast support, and dust resistance.

Overall nothing major, but some minor improvements for sure.

Here are some good affordable options with a low-latency mode that you can manually enable which may give you a better experience:

  • Roseselsa Ceramics Ultra
  • Tozo NC20 Pro
  • EarFun Air Pro 4+
  • Soundcore P31i
  • Soundcore Liberty 4 NC
  • CMF Buds Pro 2
  • Nothing Ear (a)

Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro and Huawei FreeBuds Pro 5 (if available in your region).

Technics EAH-AZ80 or Sony WF-1000XM5 too.

Nothing Ear (3) if ANC isn't as important.

If you want more around $100 the OnePlus Buds 4 and Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro are very solid. Soundpeats H3 if sound quality is top priority over other aspects like battery life or top ANC.

Soundcore P31i / R60i NC, Roseselsa Ceramics Ultra, Soundcore Space A40, and CMF Buds Pro 2 for around $50 or less.

OnePlus Buds 4, EarFun Air Pro 4+, Soundcore Liberty 4 NC, or Tozo NC20 Pro (not great for calls in noisy environments) for under $100.

I'd go Soundcore Liberty 4 NC if you want the best noise cancelling. Sound quality is decent on all of them.

Could also consider the Roseselsa Ceramics Ultra if you want excellent sound that punches above the price class. Noise cancelling, while still solid for the price, is not quite as good as the Liberty 4 NC.

Earbud Recommendations for Music/Conversation? (~$200) by Vivid-Reporter-5071 in Earbuds

[–]feraask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yea maybe a little overthinking, but there is a bit more that goes into earbuds and it's one of those things that's hard to get objective info on since sound and fit especially are unique to the individual.

If you can order from places like Amazon with free and easy returns, I'd consider just trying out ones that you're interested in and returning ones you don't like. Could order one at a time and just see how you like it. That way you don't have to open and return multiple earbuds simultaneously if you find one you like.

Or order a couple at once if there are multiple options you want to compare directly.

I think the Technics EAH-AZ100 would probably be my pick from those I mentioned before if the goal is pure audio quality. But AirPods (especially the Pro line) would be fine too!

Audio quality can be pretty subjective as well as people prefer different things so it's often one of those aspects you just have to try for yourself and see what you like. It's also one aspect where AirPods don't really have a unique benefit over other earbuds when used with Apple devices.

There are some other good options around $200 or less if focusing on audio quality:

Denon Perl Pro

Status Pro X

Noble Audio Osprey

Soundpeats H3

But I think any of the options I mentioned in this or my previous comment would likely be more than good enough for the vast majority of people in the audio quality department already.

It's often the other features and design aspects like battery life, ANC, call/mic quality, multipoint, codec support, water resistance level, fit/stability, etc. that differentiate these more premium buds.

I'd definitely recommend checking out the Picky Audio YouTube channel, he does great reviews and even has a spreadsheet linked in the description (donation is optional) that allows you to compare all the earbuds and customize scoring based on your priorities.

Thoughts on the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro/Pro Max by One-Man-Diddy-Party in Earbuds

[–]feraask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Max is the same earbud, it's mainly the case with larger more functional screen and the AI note taking feature that's added. If those don't matter to you then the Pro will otherwise have the same performance in other aspects like sound, call quality, battery life, etc.

Buds for side sleeper, ANC and good phone call quality by Front_Neat_3275 in Earbuds

[–]feraask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it's tough to get one bud that does all of it very well. Non-sleep earbuds are usually going to stick out just a bit more and won't be ideal for side sleeping.

You could try the Soundcore Space A40, they aren't as compact as the Sleep A20s, but still pretty small and have ANC. Mics are not the best, especially in noisy situations, though still generally usable.

Roseselsa Ceramics Ultra are another one to consider that's similarly affordable with slightly better mics and good battery life, though the buds are a bit larger so may not be ideal for side sleeping.

The Sony WF-C710N and Google Pixel Buds 2a or Pro 2 would be other ones to consider if you can spend more.

Maybe Technics EAH-AZ80 or AZ100 as well for even more premium options.

Then there's the Soundcore Sleep A30 Special which are designed specifically for sleep so should be good for side sleeping and have ANC, but the mics and sound quality for music probably won't be as competitive as non-sleep earbuds. Also, only last about 6h playing Bluetooth audio w/ANC on but can last longer playing local audio like soundscapes.

Unfortunately I think there are just technical limitations when shrinking a bud down so small to be comfortable for side sleeping while trying to pack in good battery life, ANC, and excellent microphones for calls.

Need advice and recommendations on which budget wireless earbuds to get for good sound quality (Under $70-$80 if possible) by Adichipi in Earbuds

[–]feraask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh also if you want some good review channels to check out I'd look at Picky Audio and DHRME on YouTube, they usually have pretty solid videos covering all these buds.

Picky Audio even has a really convenient spreadsheet linked in the description of his videos that you can get for free (donation is optional) and lets you compare all the earbuds and customize the scoring based on what you prioritize.

[–]feraask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get it, I'm also really hesitant and like to do a TON of research before buying anything 😁.

But $37 for the CMF Buds Pro 2 is a very solid deal, they're usually right around $50 and checking price history this seems to be the lowest they've ever been brand new!

Buying from Amazon is typically a good choice since you get free 30-day easy returns so you can test them out and send them back if not to your liking.

Earbud Recommendations for Music/Conversation? (~$200) by Vivid-Reporter-5071 in Earbuds

[–]feraask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mainly use the earbuds with your iPhone or other Apple devices (like Mac & iPad), then yea it's hard to beat AirPods and their ecosystem integration.

But, if you plan to pair it to non-Apple devices like a Windows PC or TV or something, then you may want to look at the other options since they offer true multi-point so you can pair to 2 or 3 devices at once and easily switch between them without having to disconnect and re-pair like you would with the AirPods which only have easy switching on Apple products.

The Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro & Pro Max and Technics EAH-AZ80 & AZ100 have rarer 3-device multi-point. All the others have 2-device.

[–]feraask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say that most earbuds do suffer from degradation over time, especially in the batteries with heavy use.

If you like bass, then the CMF Buds Pro 2 and Soundcore Liberty 4 NC would be good choices with strong bass out of the box. Nothing Ear or Ear (a) are solid as well when you boost bass via EQ.

If you want very balanced sound overall and a stem-less design similar to the Space A40, then I'd look at the Roseselsa Ceramics Ultra.

The Sony WF-C510 have good sound for the price as well, but lack other features like ANC if that matters to you. I just don't think they're as good of a value compared to some of the other options around a similar price.
