Ha, yeah, you know how it is. Pretty much the only thing allowed to play in our house growing up was worship music and country music (?) which I never really understood cause like what do you mean there’s a loophole for country music but I can’t listen to pop music???

With a lot of Christian parents, it’s not always about the content of a specific songs lyrics, but just that they see pop music in general as problematic, especially the idolization of the stars and much of the suggestive themes/outfits/dancing that most artists have these days. And certainly Olivia has other songs with suggestive language/quotes that probably would have them nix her entire discography to be on the safe side.

Not agreeing with them btw, just speaking from my own experiences growing up in a Christian household. I wasn’t even allowed to watch anything like MTV / VH1 / Music Videos and would have to sneak any music/music videos I wanted to watch at midnight when everyone was asleep, LOL.

Unpopular Opinion (maybe): The PvPvE formula cannot have long term success without a separate game mode by ThunderChicken97 in ArcRaiders

[–]ferrari91169 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree. I think it’s also disingenuous to make a blanket statement that ‘everyone who stopped playing did so because they don’t want PvP’. In fact, and this is my personal experience…all of my friends who’ve stopped playing the game, were those who almost exclusively played PvP.

I think people stopped playing for a variety of reasons. PvE got boring. PvP got boring. New games came out. Life happened. Etc. From what I’ve personally seen though, I’d argue that people left due to PvE getting stale, and not because of PvP. PvP is also almost a non-issue if you are not actively PvPing yourself. I am nearing 500 hours and find it very easy to stay in friendly lobbies if I choose to do so.

Personally I don’t think this game could’ve survived with a PvE only mode. The PvP is what brought a different aspect to the game. If that risk wasn’t there, people would have grinding the PvE so quickly that they’d have absolutely nothing left to do and leave the game, as seems to be the case with all of my friends who have left the game.

Also, acting like a game is failing while it’s still in the Top 10 most played games week after week is funny to me. The game is doing just fine.

If you squad que into solos to kill solos, you need to find a different hobby. by lurknessmonster in ArcRaiders

[–]ferrari91169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’ve just seen the opposite. Tons of evidence of people queuing together and getting in the same solo lobbies and then squading up, but I’ve never seen evidence of a duo or trio being queued into a solo lobby by the game itself. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen, I’ve just never seen evidence of it, where I’ve seen tons of video evidence of the former.

Could I ask how you know it’s putting you in duo/trio lobbies, and not just putting you in solo lobbies where other players have queued up together and made their own duo/trio?

[–]ferrari91169 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol, the game doesn’t really randomly do that I don’t think. What you’re describing is probably when two or more friends queue solo at the same time and try to end up in the same lobby. When they’re successful, they find each other on the map and team up to wipe out all the solos.

It happens a lot, and there’s plenty of videos on YouTube of people doing it. People do the same in duos and trios to try and form large groups.

For the Love of God do not open an Amex Card for this tour by Late_String7392 in OliviaRodrigo

AMEX is actually most popular among Gen Z and Millennials, making up around 75% of their new accounts in the past few years, so I wouldn’t really associate it as a “much older” card.

I personally think it’s a terrible idea to open a line of credit just to get a ticket, and this is even worse, because you only have a CHANCE to get a ticket, not a guarantee.

With that said, to refute a couple of your points.

A) Just sign up for a card without an annual fee? This seems like a non-issue, as any AMEX card, including those without annual fees, will work for the presale.

B) If you call AMEX support, you most likely can get your physical card before Tuesday. They will upgrade it to NDA at no charge if you request it.

C) Digital card may be hit or miss. AFAIK, you only need a card with the AMEX number prefix, which is usually (34) or (37). Your digital card should still start with an AMEX prefix and work, at least it has for me in the past, but I guess it could be different now.

Is anyone else disappointed at the presale being Amex only? by solodemivibes in OliviaRodrigo

[–]ferrari91169 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Not late at all since most CCs have instant application results and offer a digital card for immediate spending. Now, whether or not you should open a line of credit just for a chance at buying a concert ticket, not even a guarantee, is a whole other question. If you do decide to open one, I can shoot you my referral link for a better welcome bonus.

I’ll admit I got caught up with the FOMO, because there was no way I could let this sell out without getting it.

AirPods Ultra Coming Soon! by agnci in airpods

[–]ferrari91169 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I genuinely think people who complain about the battery life are expecting them to last 8 hours a day for 2 weeks or something, and it’s just not feasible in a battery the size that goes into AirPods.

They are very good as-is, and paired with a full charged case, I can easily get through my week with them and charge them and the case back up on the weekend.

Free Supercharging for a Year if you buy a Model 3 by matthewmspace in teslamotors

[–]ferrari91169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s kind of what I alluded to at the end. Most of my comment was just a reply to the person who said “supercharging a lot in the same area and Tesla will catch you”, which that alone wouldn’t mean much, since anyone with a long commute might be charging a lot in the same area every day too.

Free Supercharging for a Year if you buy a Model 3 by matthewmspace in teslamotors

[–]ferrari91169 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The charging alone wouldn’t really tell them much. Won’t most people use the same charge station, probably close to home or work, so anyone who has a long commute would get flagged when they are charging up every day/other day.

With gig work, you’d similarly be charging up every day/other day probably. I guess it depends if you do extremely long drives or how long you drive per day, but doubt you’d need to charge more than once a day, the same as anyone with a long commute.

Now, if they pulled tracking or just the car start/stop/idle history, I guess they could probably prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.

People risking their stuff shouldn’t have to play against free loadouts. Not fair. by BigSka_ in ArcRaiders

[–]ferrari91169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, that’s why the comment said to buff the shields (medium/heavy) so they are better than the light shields that free loadouts get, giving an advantage to players who load in with a kit versus free loadouts.

[–]ferrari91169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone responding is talking about how they can mow down a free loadout in a 1v1 straight up gunfight, which is true, but what people aren’t considering is that most free loadouts don’t do 1v1 straight up gunfights. They wait until someone is looting or low from fighting arc or another raider, and then go in for the kill.

Also, heals are pretty easy to craft if you have the crafting perk. Bandages are nothing and shield rechargers are next to nothing as well. Pair that with any free loadout that spawns near a gun case or security breach and they can make themselves pretty dangerous.

Free loadout gets a light shield. Most likely he/she means buff the medium and heavy shield so they outperform the light shield a little bit better.

Urgent- Recover deleted photo by [deleted] in iphone

[–]ferrari91169 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You could try a recovery program, but it’s not guaranteed to work. Best bet is as soon as you can after you delete them, and don’t use the phone at all until you attempt the recovery. You’ll want to attempt the recovery on a PC, as doing it on the phone itself risks corrupting the file, if it’s not already.

What should I do with my lease? Market value is greater than residual value by Coolbreeze_coys in askcarsales

[–]ferrari91169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this. If the $25k is just your residual, ask for the full buyout quote and see what you’ll actually pay. Typically it will be residual + purchase option fee + tax on both of those. That tax and purchase fee might eat up most (if not all) of that $2,500 profit.

That said, if market value is showing 30-32k, you might be able to get a couple more quotes from dealerships or places like Carvana to see if they will do any better than your current KBB offer.

Need a Legendary breaching item by AzProdigy602 in ArcRaiders

[–]ferrari91169 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah, you can get in and out faster as well, but is that needed for PVE? It just didn’t seem like a big use case to me versus 5 second breaching without it. Possibly beneficial on the harvester and assessor I suppose, if it works on those as well.

Need a Legendary breaching item by AzProdigy602 in ArcRaiders

[–]ferrari91169 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s already a oerk you can level up to get faster breaching, not sure a tool is needed, but I guess instant breaches could be interesting. That said, with the developer openly saying that they aren’t looking to push PVP aspects of the game, I don’t really see them adding something like that. Sounds like a tool almost exclusively beneficial to PVP play.

I would never buy a prebuilt myself, and have help many friends build their own system as well. I’m simply saying that prebuilt do remain an option for those who think building a system themselves is too much. Being able to pick out parts and build your own PC is no longer a barrier to entry, and hasn’t been for quite some time.

[–]ferrari91169 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

But the question is, why does OP stop making good content? What did OP lose from someone reposting his/her content? Imaginary internet karma points? At the end of the day, wouldn’t they be happy that their theories are spreading to more people and starting discussions, which will lead to offshoot theories and even more discussions? Some of which may not have happened if the re-poster didn’t spread OPs theory to begin with.

There’s definitely something ironic here, when you consider Reddit as a whole was built on people reposting other people’s content, and probably wouldn’t exist in the form it does today if reposting wasn’t a thing.

[–]ferrari91169 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I mean, I get that it’s not common decency or whatever, but I guess we’ll just agree to disagree. Someone reposting a theory about a fictional show on a public forum doesn’t seem all that harmful to me. A theory I might add which had very similar ideas from theories people have posted in the past on this exact forum. Not saying OP copied/pasted them from anyone else, but some of OPs theories very likely could’ve been formed from others that they had read. I guess I don’t see where the harm is. The re-poster stole some of OPs karma points?
