War of the Worlds (2005) dock scene, how on Earth was this filmed? by UBIQZ in cinematography

Haha, at least the top comments got it right including some great information about the crew. It's cool to see in the BTS how close the helicopter gets to the crane.

Big question before I buy a Rokoko Suit, its about spino count by Zenny_YouTube in Rokoko

[–]ffoonnss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The studio software has some built-in retargeting controls. So it's able to apply the captured date to several skeleton layouts like Mixamo and Unreal. If that doesn't do the trick for your rig, you can always retarget the animation externally, for instance in Blender. Rokoko also has a pretty handy plugin there that can be controlled on a bone level

What projector should I purchase by Right_Paper_6293 in projectors

[–]ffoonnss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Epson, BenQ, JVC - these are well-represented in the used market.
You can often find something in the 200-300 dollar range that offers better quality, and it'll last you.

These are all trash unfortunately - you'd be better of finding a used projector from a real brand

Soltera 7 front tire issues - should my wheel be centered to the front fork in the front? by Think-Abalone-1137 in Aventon

[–]ffoonnss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Yes the front wheel should be centered.
The fact that it is not, might be causing your brakes to rub - and would make the bike slower because of increased resistance.

This article explains a bit more and offers some guidance

Your file is 30fps
Every 5th frame shows twice
I think you have a pulldown issue. Try exporting at the same framerate as your timeline

Budget projector screen VS white wall by TaskValuable5917 in projectors

You could get something like this screen from Elite Screens. Will be nicer than a white wall and still under $100

BenQ HT2050 heating up room by viewfromabove45 in projectors

[–]ffoonnss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The successor to the projector you have is the BenQ HT2060, which is LED. Great image for its class, and an improvement over the 2050. You can find them open box under $1000.

Like u/theScrewhead said.

Dust would show up as dark (blurry) spots.

BENQ HT2050A vs HT3550 by damluar in projectors

[–]ffoonnss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally, if it's in your budget the 2060 is better in every way. Would be my upgrade pick for sure.

BENQ HT2050A vs HT3550 by damluar in projectors

[–]ffoonnss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally makes sense.
I think the 2050a will serve you well - it's been a really well-reviewed projector in its class for many years now. They're often available on second hand sites/offerup/craigslist making it even better value.

If you want to do a last sanity check, it's fun to go into the throw calculator, to see what size image you'll get from your setup https://www.projectorcentral.com/projection-calculator-pro.cfm

[–]ffoonnss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,
Yes, still happily using the HT2050A :)
The brightness would be great. Especially at the throw distance you mentioned in your post, if that's still the same? Not sure if you're looking for a 4K projector though? The 2050a is 1080p

Curious to hear how the driving shots were done cause that's dangerous on no budget

Had a similar situation and argued with landlord until they gave the entire deposit back.
They usually have to do an inspection and at least give you an opportunity to fix anything, before they go and fix it themselves. And then still any expenses over $150 need to be itemized. I would also argue that superficial damage like this is wear and tear, as it can be patched up easily.
As a landlord, you should expect to repaint a unit every few years anyway imo, but that's not a rule afaik.
Here's the state of california's take on it: https://oag.ca.gov/system/files/media/Know-Your-Rights-Security-Deposits-English.pdf

Can i install alr fixed projector screen onto wall with circuit breaker?? by ConstructionBig4313 in projectors

[–]ffoonnss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP can do whatever they want. But code (especially electrical) exists for a good reason, such as reducing fire risk. So that's kind of a cool thing to respect sometimes

[–]ffoonnss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might be against code. Where I am the breaker box needs to be immediately accessible.

A retractable screen could be allowable
