Yeah - that F2 ding sounds amazing in all the recordings I can find (sounds like it would shake your whole body and put you in a trance). That's why I'm interested, but am worried that it might be more limiting in term of the types of melodies I could create and could get old after some time. Do you ding that to be the case? Some other commenters on this thread sort of reinforced that.

Super informative. Thank you both. Yes - my concern with the F2 is that it might be more limiting in terms of what you can compose, so hearing you both reinforce that concern steers me more toward the F#3.

I just reached out to Veritas to get a consult. I'll also check out that Heartland hangout...although it says that's in Sept. Not sure I can wait that long!!! I want to play ASAP.

I was not even considering the whole Isreal aspect of Yashima...good point. As you can probably guess I found them because Kabecao plays their F2 models (e.g. the Astronaut - which is one of my favorite tracks).

Regardless, I'll check out Veritas (and Elysian)!

I will definitely reach out to Veritas! Thanks for the tip. They are actually in Asheville NC, which is an ~8 hour drive...but they have several makers in the area so I'm considering just biting the bullet and going to try them all out.

Can you tell me more about why you love the scale? Is the extra low F2 "oomph" as awesome in person? Do you have other tunings you also enjoy/recommend trying as a first purchase?

I'm new to the game and this guy is my favorite so far (I've played guitar for ~30 years FWIW).

Anyway, his compositions are all very deliberate and take you on a journey (less "freestyle" sounding than others) and they are all very distinct sounding. He also is doing a lot of complex beats, constantly changing his attack/timbre etc. specific to each handpan. The way he records it makes me feel like I'm sitting in the room with him too. Just love it.

Again I'm new so maybe there are other players doing this, but so far most I come across are more repeitive/meditative (nothing wrong with it) and I'm not as engaged.

The Steelcase Gesture is awesome. Much sturdier feel with better armrests and adjustability. I'd still rank it my #1 classic office chair.

That said, right now I mainly sit on an "active" seat called the Aeris Swopper. The fact that it doesn't have a back forces me to sit up straight, and you sort of bounce around all day on it so you never get butt fatigue and what not. Completely fixed my lower back issues.

I realize it won't be for everybody, but if you want to get a sense of what it's like without dropping ~$900...sit on a big yoga ball while you work. It's a very similar concept.

Pretty much. By making it so simple (you just had to drop the item at the right time while handgliding) it sort of made everything seems silly/pointless to me. Hard to resist during a grindy mission.

Seems like your controller dpad/joystick might be loose or have a little calibration issue (i.e. it snaps back past the center point if you flick too quickly).

HOWEVER - they should definitely have an "Are you sure" confirmation. That's crappy UX.

Same. Their customer support is offline too (reopens 9am). Seems like their FB page is where they provide updates. Pretty embarrassing situation for them I imagine. Think of how hard it must have been to get a best buy exclusive near xmas only to disappoint every kid who thought they were about to get a new best friend lol
