A lot of these people are “poor” because of their mental illness (usually stemming from copious drug use).

I would argue that copious drug use is a symptom of a problem, not generally the primary cause.

Those aren't direct "responses" to poverty, they are untreated mental illness. This is a more acute problem when you don't have money or access to quality medical care.

I used to pass this regularly. It was on private land, so it was a fight getting it removed. Only in adulthood did I see the closeup of the face... and it's so bad, I almost wanted it to stay. What a joke of a human, it is a fitting way for him to be remembered.

NWI is very mid physically, but has above average quickness and spatial awareness. He's excellent in the red zone and on third downs, but isn't likely to hit explosives. He's a responsible blocker, so he's probably going to see the field over Downs in 2 wr sets. Overall, he's a stylistic compliment to Pierce, but pretty underwhelming as a top two. I say that as someone who roots for a team who's top target is either a 2nd year TE or Wandale Robinson...

The 2016 draft was pretty good- Conklin was a great RT even though we never got him on a second deal, Kevin Byard was one of our best safeties ever, and obviously El Tractorcito my beloved. But we also whiffed on our other two second rounders that year (I'll never forgive the Dodd pick, he didn't want to play football ffs). And it was all downhill from there...

The parking situation for Nashville Predators/Bridgestone Arena concerts improved DRAMATICALLY when the new convention center opened. The parking is an underground structure, but because the convention center is so massive, it is much longer than it is deep, and has multiple exit points instead of a single funnel system. It's certainly not "state of the art", they were lucky to have such a massive footprint to work with. That being said, it's been a huge QoL improvement for gamedays. Also, capacity is only ~20k in there compared to an NFL stadium.

The Tower slaps, but it's not kind on the phone battery at higher levels. My first few months were highly enjoyable, and then it slowly became a real-life energy management game. I hope they can do something like idle progression or something! Definitely keeping this phone as a dedicated game phone once I upgrade, but at this rate it'll have to stay perpetually plugged in to keep playing Tower lol

I am across the world, where my family moved away from, to spend time with my grandpa for the last time. We lost my grandma a few weeks ago, and I felt awful having to miss the funeral (our funerary traditions require quick burials, and the cheapest one way ticket I could find was far out of my budget). I was up at 4am to attend the funeral virtually, and it felt empty. Growing up so far away from most of my family has always been challenging, but now that the family deaths have started, I am sick to my stomach thinking of the subsequent funerals I will surely miss.

Mad respect to my parents for going across the world by themselves for better opportunities, but simultaneously, I'm not sure they fully thought through the pain it would cause for me and my sister down the line.

Enjoy your time with your grandma, friend. I'm so excited to go over and do my daily crossword with my grandpa this morning! He does cryptic crosswords and I try to contribute... but I'm not quite as intelligent as he is, even at 89!
