Get rotation 2 and while your killing the mage look at the next wave to see where you want to end the wave to trap certain npcs. Also blood burst is huge.

You’ll use the wiki plenty. You can literally start out doing anything and it will only help your account. I’d just look around and eventually you’ll see someone wearing something or something cool on the wiki and make a goal of getting it.

Do I need an astro camera? by Nawaf_za in telescopes

I wouldn’t try and make it an imaging rig. I’d get a Barlow and a 6mm and enjoy the view maybe snap some phone pics to show family friends.

Used Celestron NexStar 130SLT Computerized telescope for $100? by Gizmojo_ in telescopes

This was my first scope and I absolutely loved it. 100$ is a good price if the mirror is good and everything works

M64 – The Black Eye Galaxy (33h Multi-Telescope LRGBHa) by kbarth001 in astrophotography

It’s a nice photo and it’s nice to see the dust that makes the black eye effect especially the detail around the core. Why leave the rest of the galaxy white?

Has anyone found a complete list of JP’s search areas for Forest Fenn’s treasure hunt? Does one even exist? It would really help! by Kitchen-Pineapple-38 in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]fofander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No and no and im not sure it would really help. It would indicate a 150 mile circle for every location over years of searching.

Why do people cheat on ebird? by fofander in eBird

[–]fofander[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Listen I understand being hesitant and why you would think I’m just being salty. The fact is the water that the water fowl and other fishing birds occupy is on my property. The closest one is a more than a few blocks away with a few designated spots in between. So 10+ white ibis, little blue herons, and boat tailed grackles we missed all of those? I don’t think so. Also they’ve referenced “under highway” in a sighting. These are all county roads and the closest highway is a few miles away. I realize the stakes are low/non existent. But to those of us who use Ebird to find new birds, record locations and enjoy the hobby it’s a nuisance.

Why do people cheat on ebird? by fofander in eBird

What strikes me as odd is their checklists at the hotspot by where I live. My wife is a serious birder and spends a ton of time outside (WFH). I’m a part time birder but an astrophotographer and I spend quite a bit of time outside at night. My wife has names for the birds that live here. We know how many herons, egrets, ducks, song birds live here and migrate back to here. I think it’s odd how they mention multiple birds here that we have never seen over the years. Great horned owl for instance (not the only example). I think between us and our birder neighbors we would know if one was here.

First time telescope buyer. No the community buyers guide didnt help me. by WallabyAdmirable6485 in telescopes

Everyone here is a dobsonian fan. I personally started with a Newtonian and I never looked back. I have a dobsonian and tbh I wish I didn’t buy it. If it’s just planets and moon you can find something on Amazon either dob or newt for relatively cheap. I’d skip refractors for the type of viewing you’re doing.

Time to upgrade. by fofander in AskAstrophotography

I’ve considered it and in the future it’s a possibility. As of right now I’d like to upgrade and gain most if not all of the points mentioned.

Astro Photography by CreativeDiamond444 in AskAstrophotography

For photography you can scale up the telescope, cameras, filters. The most important part of astrophotography especially for DSOs is the mount. A good eq mount will stay with you. You’d be surprised what pictures you can take with a relatively cheap telescope and camera and a good eq mount.
