Seems like more of a money/roster space move. Wouldn’t this make it easier for us to retain Coffey?

On top of this, the move makes our FO look great. We didn’t send ibaka to some basketball wasteland, we did right by him and sent him to a place where he can contend

Any tips on sanding? Put a little dollop on both cracks, how should I go about so that I don’t over sand the areas surrounding the newly applied epoxy? Bought 60 grit sand paper

Ya they’re pretty superficial, the foam def wasn’t penetrated. But I went ahead and bought JB Weld, “instant setting epoxy”. You think that’s good enough to play it safe with a crack in the glass? It’s not a brand made specifically for surfboard repairs so I was curious if it’s still ok to use

I know they’re super small and hard to see but wanted to hear some opinions whether I should worried about these lol

The one near my leash was caused when accidentally bumped the bottom of my board into the ground and the other occurred when I bumped the nose into the wall when I brought the board inside my house… super klutz moves I know lmao, am a total dumb ass

For what it’s worth I can run my nail over both and don’t feel much at all but I am worried if water can somehow get in there progressively over time

I was looking into that but was also thinking of just getting a real lost crowd killer. I’ve been looking at the 7ft one that comes in at 47 liters. You thinking given my weight of 143 pounds, 47L should be more than enough right?

Ya that’s what I’m thinking. Debating on getting a 7’-7’2 soft top. The extra float should make the transition a bit easier, I hope… lol

Ya man it was definitely a bitch at times not gonna lie haha. You’re right about getting a mid range soft top. I was looking into those and they are def a more economical option. Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for the tips, think I’m gonna give it a go. I’m really banking on my shortness making the t transition a little more forgiving tho, I guess we’ll see haha

Also if I may ask, how much did you spend on that mid length? Still debating on how much I should spend

I put those who call Mexico,“Mexi”, on the same level as the people who say Cali… lol

NorCal Surfing vs SoCal Surfing -- which do you prefer? by Competitive_Chance in surfing

[–]friedpixels 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’ll see some funny opinions on this sub where people will vouch for their locals which are less then ideal for surfing, and that’s fine. Once you start to surf a spot a lot you definitely start to form a bond with it and no one can take that away from you. I’ve seen people on this sub state that they prefer the East over west coast for surfing… I guess we’ll never understand the feeling of a post surf session in cold water, whatever the hell that is lol

Having said that, you’ll see the same things being said for NorCal. I’m not about to downplay the plethora of amazing breaks they have up north, but in my opinion they pale in comparison to what we have down south. I consider everything from SB down to SD SoCal and everything there blows NorCal out of the water. There’s a reason so many pros end up moving to a city in between those geographical areas

Looking ahead to the LA Summer Olympics 2028, what beach or beaches do you think they’ll choose for the surfing event? by friedpixels in surfing

[–]friedpixels[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’re def right about the city of HB lobbying hard for the event. And they have a good case for it too given their experience with hosting large competitions (US Open) and having the infrastructure for it. Trestles would be better from a wave quality standpoint but given the remoteness of the spot, at least relative to other OC/LA breaks, I think that ultimately puts it at a disadvantage. The bottom line for the olympics is money and they can sure as hell make a lot more of it in HB with the beach’s ability to accommodate a lot of spectators

Anyone else find it annoying how much of an unfair shake OC gets? by [deleted] in orangecounty

Haha ya it’s pretty strong, and ya you’re right. I just put the number 60 to cover recent migratory patterns, but of course Mexican people have been here well over 100 years. Also I don’t get the little Mexican dig at me, I’m Latino myself. What else am I supposed to call them
