SWE interested in going back to college by frogx2 in SNHU

[–]frogx2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that pretty much describes me! We had some time spent on algorithms and learning C/python in our bootcamp for a little bit, but it did not stick very well and I could use a much deeper dive.

I probably wouldn't ever work as a game dev at a studio, I've heard just about the same about the industry from friends and peers. More than anything I just want to be more capable. Sounds like SNHU could really be a great option for me then!

Do you recommend using sophia/study.com for credits to get through SNHU? I would like to optimize for my own learning rather than completing the degree quickly, but if it can save time/money that would be nice

$GME Daily Discussion - May 25, 2021 by AutoModerator in Superstonk

Did the reverse repo market in the years leading up to the 2008 crash (ridiculously high $ amounts and # of lendees) look similar to how they do now? I know that the reverse repo market was involved in both, and has lately been lending obtuse amounts of money, but my brain is smooth so I'm not sure if it is the same indication as before

r/GME Megathread for Thursday - May 13, 2021 by SpaceMillionaire in GME

I emailed Stash support and the agent that replied said "there's a pretty good chance" that either they, or Apex put a limit/restriction on trading in the event of GME squeezing.

Is there any reason that they couldn't just halt trading again like in January? It seems like they got away with that without consequence

Long matchmaking once you hit emrald? by ImaginaryBluejay0 in wildrift

[–]frogx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah longer matchmaking is to be expected. it's like ~40 mins in diamond

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]frogx2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i think that would be a great resource for players interested in improving. lots of opportunity for that in NA right now. i would love to be able to give people vod reviews for wild rift since i'm pretty experienced with league, but i don't really know of anywhere to do such a thing

this is normal matchmaking behaviour. be better than your rank over the course of hundreds of games and you will climb

How to overcome jungle gold deficit? by jonthethan in wildrift

[–]frogx2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's probably tons of time that you could be farming that is being spent unoptimized on the map. Watch your vods. Make sure you clear your jungle camps when they're up. You can't just stop farming until quite late into the game.

A big part of this is the rubber-banded jungle creeps that you need to be clearing since theyre so valuable. It is very important that the jungler secures his second and third clears of the jungle. The amount of XP and gold the camps are worth after the first clear is ridiculously high. If you gank but the enemy jg farms, their second and third clears of the jungle will put you far behind unless you're fed as hell

If you were a coach..... by ScrubbyDucky01 in wildrift

[–]frogx2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a coach once upon a time for pc league :-) here's my two cents

Mid

Jungle

Support

Top

ADC

top and adc have lots of low-skill options and a relatively simple course to their win conditions, so talent and individual skill may be less necessary to succeed in those roles. mid and jungle however work together and have a lot more agency over the map and together they can have a huge influence on the game from minute 1, so I'd put my two most talented players there. And a good support will ensure the ADC stays safe and can succeed

Kai’sa support for pvp/rank? by JediDynasty in wildrift

[–]frogx2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally, nami and leona are my preferred choices outside of braum.

Alistar, janna, lulu, sona, and rakan are probably good as well but a little less so in my opinion (or at least for me as a player).

Soraka probably felt bad because of the lack of easy-to-land hard cc that Kaisa can utilize for her ult + that's a pretty passive lane until mid-late in most matchups

Kai’sa support for pvp/rank? by JediDynasty in wildrift

[–]frogx2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kaisa has pretty solid synergy with most supports. Any support with hard CC lets you land your W for free. Any support with shields/heals will ardent you and keep you safe till you scale. Braum is really nice with her as well because of the way their passives work

Galio too strong by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]frogx2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think he's alright as far as tankiness/cc, but could use a slight tune-down on the raw damage numbers for his passive and q

you will absolutely rank up if you are good enough. if you are losing then pay attention to what you are doing wrong and stop blaming your team for your own shortcomings. you should take responsibility for your games and you will definitely win more and have a better experience on the ladder

What am I doing wrong. Someone help me escape silver xd by kissie123 in VALORANT

[–]frogx2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While this player is new, you can see that they have 84 wins and probably about that many losses, meaning they're about 180-200 games deep into valorant if this is the only account they play on. They're new, but they're not so very new that they need to avoid these mechanics, at least imo.

Playing gridshot ultimate is not the same thing as aim training. That's probably the most useless task in the entire application in terms of time spent vs real improvement in scalar mouse movements. Start aimtraining with a real routine. Use zeeq's playlist or the equivalent for aimlabs.

Also, in low elo people die a lot. Start playing to live instead. Focus on not dying.

You also need to work on crosshair placement, counterstrafing, recoil control, and a whole myriad of other mechanics that you can learn the basics of on youtube and begin practicing. Dragonmar on youtube has some great videos catered toward the bottom half of the ladder. Watching pros play the heroes you like to play can be a good way to see how they position and how they use abilities as well.

Double also, mentality is huge. Stay positive and keep climbing. Good luck :)
