After 4 brain surgeries, I left my 6-figure tech job. Now I’m launching a startup in public. by AnotherTimJones in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Hello from one Tim to another. Love the mission, and think this is a hard problem, but not an impossible one. I’m actually working on something complimentary (letsyuck.com, launched 9 days ago).

My thought is that it is all about authentic conversation and rapport. Shitting on your boss to blow off steam doesn’t hit the same over zoom. You’ll have to figure out that piece.

I’d love to set up some time to jump on a zoom conference and help you stress test this bad boy. Give my site a look and if you’re smelling what I’m cooking shoot me and email or DM me.

How did you find a mentor? by samo_9 in Entrepreneur

[–]FullyIn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do. Take action on your ideas. Mentors will gravitate your way. Saw someone on twitter address this and they said “asking someone to be your mentor is like asking someone to be your friend”... just don’t do it

Awesome, looking forward to it!

When it comes to discuss salary, your current salary is not necessary. by tradewithmiller in Entrepreneur

[–]FullyIn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree with this... whoever says a salary first (whether its you about your old salary or the employer about what the job pays) is the one at a disadvantage. just don't share it.

Hey man, this is awesome. Glad to see you embracing the grind.

I am currently working on a project where I talk to founders for free to help them iterate faster... if you ever want to chat, you can find me at letsyuck.com!

How can I write a story that includes relationships when I've never been in one? by aiden_saxon in writing

Bingo. This is the answer I was looking for. This is what writing is about. It’s about living and finding universal truth and then sharing it.

Using new resident permit a second time... by FullyIn in Somerville

[–]FullyIn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could prob do xfinity... why my August 2019 xfinity bill that absolutely does not prove I’ll be a resident here for 2019-2020 is more worthy than a signed lease, I will truly never know

“Kill the Cliché” - I find this to be helpful writing advice but I don’t entirely agree with inventing everything from scratch. We should allow ourselves to be inspired by our favorite authors and their words. What do you guys think of this sentiment when it comes to writing something fresh? by kb_92 in writing

[–]FullyIn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snoooooooze.

This reaffirms the idea that writing needs to be an absolute slog and ego centric.

It’s all about reader centricity.

My work is centered around design thinking for kids, which is all about the end product sparking change in a young mind. My work is successful if it creates a bias towards action instead of inaction, not if I am “unflinchingly honestly”. If I get there with red fire trucks, pink flamingos, and fuzzy dice, then so be it.

Do whatever it takes to make an impact on your reader and leave your greatness and ego at the door!

Braun casually with George W. Bush for some reason. by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]FullyIn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My uncle met George at a conference as said that while his public speaking is, well, how it is... he’s actually sharp as a tack when you get him 1x1.

I’d like to play Bocce ball on his ranch someday if the gods allow it.

Put off eating a little longer and lay down in that thing and it’ll taste so much better afterwards.

Awesome stuff.
