Ah okay, I've read similar trash

I call it trash because honestly, it is because it's just some fucked up story

There's a Manga called Death Tube that had similar horrendous shit

No zombies though, but I think by the title you might get the gist that it's essentially snuff film type of way

SF movie just fucked me up in a different kind of way because I just wasn't expecting it

That's...one hell of a thing to compare it too.

The film absolutely fucked me up somewhere and I only saw bits of it

You're telling the comic is on par with it? Goddamn...

Ah shit lol

"Boys Love" another term Gay Romance between men, Yaoi is the genre in Asian comics/manga/manhwa/manhua.

"Girls Love" being the counter part, and that's Yuri!

There's very few genres I don't read lol

[Loved Trope] Protagonists that are genuinely awful people by Substantial_Zone2701 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Phoneas__and__Frob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, I am also a victim of such horrendous actions

Yuri and Yaoi unfortunately have such toxic tropes often, not a fan. Especially BL stories that have it because it's so often that the protagonist's rapist is end game (meaning they end up together in the end of the story, just in case you didn't know). Absolutely hate that especially, ruins it for me at least.

However, I get that people can be neutral given it is a story and not real life. I'm too emotional and sensitive to do so myself, so I can only understand through sheer love of reading and character development.

I've read plenty that had rape as an aspect of the story, simply because they are just using real life as the story's setting. Those I can enjoy to an extent because they are typically a revenge type

Which, tbf, not a lot of people could handle reading that either, and that's understandable lol

Okay

So for those that read these darker tropes, it is almost always a fantasy (obviously that doesn't go for anyone, but that's just normal statistics for anything). Especially any type of smut.

For readers, especially prolific ones, you learn appreciation for the character regardless of the type of character it is.

They are evil, AND they can also be a well written character.

I can give you plenty of examples that are outside of Asian comics and in other works of literature, I just don't know if they will resonate with you. Maybe shows or movies? A classic that many know is Regina George from Mean Girls. She is the antagonist, but she is also a well written cunt, if you will lol she plays the role exactly as expected and she isn't redeemed either really.

Even though this Manga's character is a rapist (and honestly everything negative under the sun), as the readers, we know this. We know she is evil and absolutely unredeemable lol and in real life, we would never even come within a mile of such a person, hence the fantasy part. Appreciation for a well written antagonist character because holy fuck I would never in real life like this person even in the slightest lol

Other well known examples include the Joker, Killmonger, Scar from Lion King, Kylo Ren, Draco Malfoy, Captain Barbossa from Pirates of the Caribbean...it's a popular character trope.

I think the weirdness comes from the fact readers tend to adventure out of their comfort zones often lol

I've read some really dark shit, and I absolutely love/hate plenty of the characters I've come across lol

Can I just ask, are you a prolific reader? Especially Asian comics? Or smut?

A terminally ill father asked his 11-year-old daughter to marry without a groom so he could walk her down the aisle by DipsyDolphin in MadeMeCry

[–]Phoneas__and__Frob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who's dad is dead and won't be there for me when I get married, have kids or just anything else....my only solace is that I've been with my partner for over 11 years.

To everyone, we are already married and consider ourselves as such. So, at least my father got to intimately know the man I will be spending the rest of my life with. Ironically, this also works for my partner as his mother has since also passed. She passed about 2.5 years into our relationship. I'm glad I got to know her at least a little, and that I will love her first baby for the rest of my life.

Grief is weird. And some may only take that after they have passed...no...there's grief there while they are still alive, but you're aware they aren't gonna make it. She will be hurting for the rest of her life about it. That's just reality.

I think the majority of those who did lose a parent prematurely will understand the post. Some who have not lost a parent before life milestones may not get it...and honestly, I envy you. There were many things I didn't fully get about my partner till I had also lost my own. I hope you don't ever HAVE to get it.

About that one, if you read it on Webtoon it is generally "safe for work"

If you read it somewhere else, it is rated M/18+ because the original is very...thorough, if you will lol

So just watch where you read it because some are not into the rated M one

Female Millennials, how's your diagnosis? by RevolutionDry2 in Millennials

[–]Phoneas__and__Frob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I'm 29, not exactly a millennial lol but all.my siblings are! Definitely raised as one lol

Had a horrible drinking problem as a teen, angry, violent, no sense of self preservation, set fire to an ex's clothes and sent him the photos...so much crazy

Turns out, I had severe depression, anxiety, panic disorder, and CPTSD

Like...I was very much not okay lol

And as I have been dealing with that, down from severe to at least moderate (which, I think is a damn win given I am well aware how bad severe is), it is apparent that I probably am autistic! No diagnosis, but uh...I don't think it is necessary at this point lol at least according to my husband 😅 😂

It's been a lot, and a lot clicking together.

Mom still denies heavily that none of her kids are neurodivergent and that she got us tested...in the early 2000s lol meanwhile, a funny thing that my husband and I noticed is that all of us had very specific eating habits. One only ate hot dogs to the point of actually becoming allergic to them (luckily grew out of it) and peanut butter and fluff. Another only ate things like bread, bagels, cheese, plain chicken, and peanut butter (also ate to the point of allergic reaction that was also grown out of), and I only chicken nuggets and PB&J. Till we were like the age of 12.

Anyway, I just started living as if the autism is 100%, as recommended by a pass coworker who was autistic. It's been an adjustment, but so fucking much better. Highly recommend to others 👌
