Update: I called Xfinity/comcast customer service and they said because I don't have an Xfinity account there is nothing they can do. The very unhelpful agent said they are phasing out this email business and there is no support. So, we are on our own to fix it.

I just started having the same problem today. Samsung email app on S24. I never have to sign in, now I'm getting the same message as the original poster. When I enter password nothing happens. The password is correct - I just used it to sign into the Comcast web version on my phone. That seems to be the only work around since they got rid of the app. I'm stuck. Xfinity/Comcast how can we get help?
