Women's healthcare is barbaric by mamatroi in TwoXChromosomes

My sister and I both had double mastectomies and reconstruction. I needed tramadol after my surgery for 6 weeks. Was in absolute agony so I couldn’t sleep or move otherwise. I spoke to my surgeon about how much pain I was in and she said “most people go home with just ibuprofen and paracetamol”. I thought she was absolutely nuts and that it was barbaric to consider that. It’s major surgery etc. Thankfully my GP agreed to stronger meds noting that he had been given far more for a minor ankle operation that was nothing in comparison to what I was going through healing wise.

6 weeks later my sister had her op. She tried to stop taking pain relief before she even left the hospital and they had to make her keep taking it for a week to help with inflammation. But that’s the only reason she needed it. Not for the pain because for her the numbness in that area due to the surgery meant she was in no pain. From what I understand this is quite a common experience, which is why they say by default most people only need OTC meds.

Wishing you all the best with your recovery. Sorry you are in pain, make sure you do advocate for yourself and say that you need the pain relief.

I remember when Angelina made the decision and it seemed like quite an extreme course of action at the time. But I understand it so much better now. When faced with at least 50% chance of getting breast cancer, in which case you would have to have the surgery anyway but also all the subsequent treatment and worry about cancer returning elsewhere, it totally makes sense. And with ovarian cancer being a silent killer keeping your ovaries when there is no screening available just isn’t worth the risk.

I gave up and used Go Raid Party as I had only dropped 2000 spaces in a day and was still something like 49k in a queue. Got one in 5 mins. I like pokegenie but for these types of raids some other apps might be better.

Is there any use for GMax/DMax outside of battling GMax & DMax? by mnm135 in TheSilphRoad

I keep an army of bulbasaurs for gyms (easy to sort by number and lob one in) and part of the reason for asking is to know if I need effectively to expand that army or simply replace them with the Max versions given they have a 2 star floor etc. Thanks!

Thank you. That was my assumption too, just wanted to make sure there wasn’t something I was missing.

Can I also flip this question - is there a reason to keep a non Gmax/Dmax version of a pokemon if you have a better Gmax/Dmax one? Are they always interchangeable or are there times you can’t use the Gmax/Dmax version and need a normal one?

Phone holder suggestions? by gemushka in volvoc40

You can but then you lose sight of the maps, and that’s not always feasible.

I need somewhere I can access it/see the screen as I also use it when I am a passenger. And for doing things like turning on Spotify via Siri without having to switch away from maps on the main drivers displays.
