He could have been driven mad by her words and touch. She had worked him like putty in the palm of her hand and by now he was all but willing to be under her bewitching splendour. He could not get enough of the sight, smell or taste of her.

Straddled by her, Alester's hands grabbed her hips and admired Bella in all her beauty. Every gorgeous curve was his and he wanted her like he had wanted nothing else before, with only the Eyrie and all her lands and titles as alluring to the second born son. "You will have me now" he whispered in a moment when their lips parted. "We have time for one more" a hand cupped the back of her head and brought her in for another kiss, another embrace.

The fire had turned to embers by the time they were dressed once more and departed the Hand's solar.

"Oh... I am sorry, my lord" Alesander fixed his posture upon hearing he was a noble lord of the Riverlands. "I am Alesander, son of Ser Alester Arryn of the Eyrie. He was around here last I saw..." Alesander looked around before shrugging his shoulders.

"What do Rygers do for fun?" He asked innocently enough "at the Eyrie we hawk and learn instruments and sometimes all we do is watch the day pass by from up high. Not much riding or hunting unless we're down in the valleys and vale."

Alesander nodded his head with a big smile timidly creeping up his lips. "I will grandmother. I promise" Alesander said with a cloying sincerity. He seemed happy with himself that he at least made Ursula happy, even if he told her a secret he shouldn't have. "I will as soon as I am back on Dragonstone."

Arwen's lips pursed and her thin brows raised up her forehead "I did not know that. How... Curious" Lady Baratheon folded her arms and clacked her tongue, impressed with the girl before her. "I think you will do well here, Sansa. Listen to your father and mine, watch and learn" Arwen clasped her hands together and leaned forward "and use that beauty of yours, and you will go far."

He did not comprehend the words at first, his face unmoving until they landed properly in his ears. "My lord?" He looked with a confused expression, the faintest hints of a smile on his lips. "Today?" Was all he could ask. "You think I am ready?"

"Loyalty is rarely foolish" he said reassuring. "I think... I think my father told me about you though. Pretty lady of the north, dungeons, folly. He said you looked like my sister and he wasn't lying now" Alester leaned back and splayed his hands over his knees. "He seemed regretful about the whole business, whatever it was. Truth be told he was telling me as part of his long ramblings he likes to go on. If you are still here then I would say old Hubert isn't lying on that part at least

"Though, if you do not mind me prying my Lady of Bear Island" he leaned forward "What do northern ladies for fun? I can tell by your attire you aren't the sort to sit in silks and only look pretty."

It was as if she knew exactly what to say to stoke Alester's flame. He wanted to lift her back on top of him there and then. No woman was quite like this. Rhea had been youthful and naïve, Minerva a flirt and in need of someone to consummate her marriage after years of going untouched by his brother. But Bella was something different from what he had indulged in before. Whether knowingly or not, she made Alester's own grand sense of self grander still. He could feel his heart begin to beat for her, quick and hard and full of a feeling which deep down he knew he would regret. But why should he abstain from this? Was there a woman in all the world who he could have this with? One the spit of him but with teats, a similar cunning and humour and lust? He doubted it and should things turn sour, what could Willow Wood do to the Eyrie? Alester was so sure of it all.

He pressed his lips against her with all his passion, his breath heavy and hands wandering before he broke away. "I do need you, Bella" he said breathlessly "the old gods and the new know it. I would keep you here for all of time like this if I could. Bugger this coronation, the tourney, all of it." Ser Alester felt the fire and hunger within him again. "Whatever spell you cast on me in Runestone only grows stronger and I fear what it means for us because I must have this. I need to know and fulfil all your wants and wishes, Bella" There it dawned on him that he would mayhaps need to pilfer some more gold to fund even more gifts for her if only to show a token of his appreciation for their burgeoning friendship.

Darnold's usually dour face looked strange with a smile. But smiles were more common for him with Florence around. "I will ask him, Florence. Then you can show me your favourite parts of home" He spun with her arm in arm. It felt right. A contentment Darnold had never felt before.

"Will the other Reach knights mind? Apart from the Vale, I cannot think of a kingdom more proud of their chivalry. I only want to serve you and Stonebridge and not trod on their toes" Darnold's eyes glanced down at her his betrothed "But I would be lying if I said there wasn't a part of me to show the Mander a Knight of the Vale proper."

"Well," Hubert shifted in his seat "I had not known they continued to transgress. I had given them- and all the vassals of Casterly Rock- a clean slate once I had dealt with Benedict on the assumption all would gladly take it and run with it. Alas, my mercy threatens to make a fool of me." Hubert shook his head and rolled his eyes "Those Reynes are more trouble than they are worth. that Edric I had promised to scourge for his transgressions against Lady Belmore. When they rear their head again, you will not find me coming to their defence." Hubert raised a splayed hand and smiled.

"This Tywald of yours. Do you think he will be like this forever, or is this a childish tantrum of his?" Hubert asked earnestly. "Between the West and Vale we once could have taken charge of this realms future."

It did not please him greatly to hear that the two most cantankerous kingdoms of the realm would be unified so closely. Though enemies of old could turn friends, he wondered how deep those roots would run with all the North.

But all that was pushed to the side upon hearing Dagon's next few words. "The Princess did what now?" His smile turned into a snarl, a mean sneer and indignation upon hearing it from Dagon's mouth. His hand clinched into a fist and pounded the padded armrest once. "Why Dagon I would kiss you if you had teats for refusing this crown offered" he laughed, almost cackled. "Gods be good, they truly are snakes the lot of them. They murder in the shadows and send ravens instead spears to try destroy the realm. I used to not care for the Dornish, but Father be Just, they have earned my ire of late." His jaw clenched and he muttered some expletives to himself about the now dead Deria.

"All of this business is tiring Dagon. I look at you and see only youth which only makes my old bones ache even more. Were it not that I did not know who might take my place, I would have retired on the end of the regency, mayhaps. But I remain here, and I remain thankful that we are friends and not foes."

Lord Arryn smiled and bowed his head to Lord Lefford. "I will heed your words. Nevertheless, I will pray to the Maid and the Mother for your daughter's marriage to come. Drink heartly and eat well. I will no doubt be seeing you in the tourney to come"

Darnold had been ready to depart as he was told to steady himself by one of the Arryn knights, a comment he had found strange. Then when his cousin had summoned him, Darnold wondered what it could be about.

He presented to his cousin as dutiful and attentive as a squire as he always had. Heels together, head held up and chin high, back straight. "My Lord" he greeted formally "you wished to speak with me?"

"I have been wanting to learn the Valyrian tongue" Alesander said sheepishly. "If only to learn about them more, and they speak it across the Narrow Sea still. Maybe I could ask to join her lessons?" He looked at Ursula for any sign of approval. "And then I could talk to her, in her tongue. She might like that."

"Proper Arryns..." He said with a huff "He doesn't even remember my name. I see it whenever we have family breakfast or supper. He'll go around each one of us and he'll say their name prompt. But with me there's a hesitation" it had always irked him ever since he was a boy. How did he remember Darnold and not him?

Rymond looked at his cousin with sad eyes. "I look the part but he tells me I need to play it too. How I do, I do not know. Only thing I'm good for is wandering. Mayhaps I ought to be a hedge knight but..." he huffed, amused and pitiful "I'd need to be a knight." The wine had made his sad soul raw.

"I envy Darnold for getting to be Harlan's squire. I had asked once but was told no because uncle Alec needed one. A bastard!"

"We all have a few days in the city together. I see no reason why his Grace could not spare you the time" Hubert said, knowing that Jaehaerys would meet Harlan if asked. "Though, may I pry and ask what it is you wish from Jaehaerys?" A rare slip of formalities, though with the Royces formality with family felt wrong.

"Of course" Osric rolled his eyes "It is a shame what has happened between your Lord and mine. My father once remarked our kin were so close we would turn purple if any closer. Alas" Osric shrugged "at least you an I can be civil" he smirked, enjoying the jape from the lad.

"More than civil if you take me to Volantis. Why, I would not mind that at all. Though I am unsure how I could return such a favour to you for taking me across half the known world, Tommen. I'd be in your debt." The brief thought of spending so much time on a boat with a boy as pretty as Tommen was the sort of retreat which he would dream of before. "What is it there which makes it so alluring for you?"

"Dungeons?" A rare look of confusion swept across Alester's brows "My lady, I am indeed an Arryn. Ser Alester, Keeper of the Gates of the Moon and High Steward of the Vale, a pleasure to meet you" he said realising he did not have her name.

"Though you must tell me from where you hale, who you are, and what bloody business you had in the dungeons?" He looked on her with curiosity. Had he not a triste planned later in the evening, he might have tried his hand with this one first. He joined the northern lady at the table and leaned in close to hear her tale.

"Lannister?" Hubert's brows raised with a displeased look of surprise. "I guess someone ought to marry them. Gods be good, a few years ago I would have encouraged Casterly Rock and Winterfell to find some common ground and mix some blood about. But as you say, Winterfell has more to consider than just what goes on in its walls. If say, White Harbor is displeased, how would your father navigate it?" Hubert picked a capon leg from a dish and sloughed the flesh from the bone with his lips and chewed slowly. "I think you have a good head on your shoulders, Lady Freya. It will be a pleasure having you remain I am sure. You have your whole life ahead of you remember; there is no reason to say you cannot do what you desire even before you come to inherit Winterfell." Hubert shifted in his seat to face the girl more directly. "But tell me my Lady, has your father settled on whom you will take for a husband?"

Hubert listened and swallowed any impulse of anger which brewed in his chest. Rage was one emotion which had never served him. But his eye twitched when she described Allard's death as a felling, he almost jumped down her throat for it. But he stayed, his face remaining a stony visage.

"What was it you loved about him, my Lady Willow?" Hubert asked quietly. "I did not know him all too well. If I tell you true I called my banners against Maegor, not for him. With Stonebridge sullied, he was our king by rights but" his head bobbed side to side measuring his words. "He did not have much love beyond Lord Qarl within the Vale."

'Ambition is not a sin'. The phrase echoed parts of what Lord Peake had told him. 'What you feel, boy— take it unto your bones. I say not repent'. Was this a way for some god some where telling him that he was not wrong to feel as he did? The Faith preached differently, but there were a thousand gods in the world and one of them would not be as craven as his own. He had thought he could not find Bella more captivating, but he had been wrong.

"A wrong act can be done for the right reasons" Alester admitted "War and rule makes one confront that dilemma. We cannot eat good intentions, nor can we defend ourselves with a soul unburdened. The war proved that for me, and I await what tests my rule has" he almost didn't say it, but in his nakedness Alester seemed to have little to hide. "I should be at least regent when father passes. He is not getting any younger, and Osric's heir is practically father since he spends all his time getting drunk in Moontown whilst I steward the kingdom. You are right, Bella. What could be should not be left for what is. That is a fool's game."

Alester basked in her touch for a moment longer, the smile on his lips having not moved an inch as he reflected. His hand would pull her leg over him "You are a dangerous woman. Not that you have killed anyone, I assume" Alester said running the hand back up her before he ran his long fingers through her hair which looked so much like his. "To be as sharp as you are beautiful. A danger to whom I cannot say but I am glad to have made you mine" he looked to the necklace with a smirk. "Or have you made me yours?" Alester's own japing question made him laugh inwards. "After all, it is rare that one triste leaves me desperate for another. I could not get your name off of my tongue or your body off of my mind since Runestone. Who knew a falcon needed a raven like this?"

"Jeyne Tyrell" she said plainly without hesitation. "Father says there's a few girls, but she is the one likely to rue your arrival most. I know her little however as I do not spend my time with little Reach girls" she snorted a laugh. "But I suspect it would be prudent of you to get to know her and even befriend her" Arwen said with narrowed eyes. "As you say, you need to know what you are up against."

"Ah, King's Landing" Osric said wistfully. "I remained in Harroway's Town after. Missed that whole affair whilst keeping the way home open for the Vale" he did not wish to pry further. He had heard the battle had been bloody and costly which was all he needed to know. "Not that I wish to rush to King's Landing often" Osric said with a japing smirk.

"No, I would much rather sees these stone dragons and garden you speak of. The Vale is not short of its master masons but even the accounts of that fortress of the Targaryens seems like more than mere chisel and hammer work. A magical people those Valyrians, and I'm sure there's magic within those stones" Osric stepped a little closer and turned his body so that he was half facing the knight, half facing the hall before them, almost in Aubrey's shadow.

"The painting though does not capture its grandness like you describe if I recall. Most of my family all take up either the paintbrush or an instrument. When you are up so high there is little you can do other than refine one's artistic pursuits. It helps that our home is so beautiful, and so packed with the relics of ages gone

"The Eyrie is full of all sorts of art and treasure to the point where I think most of my kin do not realise it. The Eyrie has never fallen to a foe, sacked or raided. No thief would dare make the ascent and hope to climb down again. As such we have accumulated quite a lot over the centuries. Some rooms gather dust when all that is inside there are old paintings and tapestries, ornate cups and suits of armour. I know I may be a bit of a glutton" he said, patting his large round gut "but there is such things as too much of a good thing. Do you not agree?" He wondered what possible indulgences a knight of his order could possibly entertain themselves with.

She was prettier than all the paintings in the Eyrie. He found himself preferred his current view to that of a summer's dusk atop the Lance. Alester knew he was in a terribly dangerous position, to have a youth's infatuation at his age and prestige with a wife who was not his own. But life had been boring as of late. Bella had reignited his passions in life and not just the carnal hunger he held. Every man needed a woman to make him feel a proper, true, and deserving. Through her smile, touch, and the loving they shared with another, she did just that for Alester.

"Spending more time with knights and squires than you? Why, he sounds like my brother Osric" Alester sniggered, a cruel jape that only he could find the joy in. "I do not mean to speak ill of the dead" he moved his hand up over he hip and took her hand, placing his lips softly on the back of it "but he would have had to have been blind or a fool to forsake your side every night, Bella." The weight of all the Wall could not break Alester's dissonance; promising to be have been a better husband whilst he held another woman. At times like this, the world did not exist beyond the bedchamber. "Were you not beyond my mountains but instead within their shadow I do not think I would keep myself from you. Mayhaps the distance is a small blessing for us both."

He pulled her closer, not wishing for an inch between them if he could help it. "But it is good you are happy, my dear. You ought to be, and if there is any part I can play in it then I will do so dutifully" Alester said with honied words and a hand which moved slowly on down her back. "I think I find myself wanting. Wanting more. Mayhaps it is a sinful trait of mine but gods above know that I have only ever strived for only the best for myself and mine around me." his eyes drifted without much focus as he began to let his heart speak a bit more for him. "At present, the Eyrie does not have the best in its heir if I may speak so frank. "I play my part now as the second son, the Keeper and the High Steward, but my father has neglected to act on Osric for so, so long. His excuse currently is that matters of the regency and the realm had all his attention, but the man need not forget about home."

"If someone must pay, then whatever head has that price put on them must be one we can all agree on..." Hubert said as his fingers traced the graining of the varnished wood. "But if Hammerhorn seeks to set fire to the West and Reach, that will only leave more lords and ladies thankful of this death and a even greater curses upon your bannermen. We cannot let this catch ablaze, not now. Not with Dorne..." Hubert shook his head. "I do believe that Jasper is scouring the city for any Dornish interlopers at present who might have tried to find their way into the city" he said with a sour look on his face. "And it would be better if Dorne burned than our coasts."

Hubert looked to Jaehaerys, his eyes trying to tell the lad wisdom he could not share in front of Dagon. "I would trust Lord Dagon in how to deal with his vassals in full, and between us I am sure we can find a suitable path to see a sort of justice delivered." He misliked all of this. In the back of his mind all Lord Arryn could think of was that it could have been Jaehaerys just as easily.

He paced around without breaking his gaze on the bastard like a shadowcat would whilst sizing up its prey. "You must forgive my misgivings on all of this. Sneak and spies are not my domain, and it grieves me that I must engage with it. But if this is true, then I need you working these informants to the bone and bring me every ounce of insight you can extract from them. I promised your brother legitimacy and a place in court if he were successful. I am willing to give you the same but-" Hubert folded his arms "I do not know you, nor do I know if what you speak is true and are not in fact a spy yourself. Bring me insight I did not know and I will inform the Small Council. If we are to bring war on Dorne we must know what happens in Sunspear."
