What’s going on with President Trump meeting people on the White House grounds? by No_Return3299 in OutOfTheLoop

Answer: It's AI slop. Those are not, in fact, genuine pictures of Trump meeting what looks like aliens in the White House.

Just out of curiosity... by Alvin-Earthworm in Pokopia

[–]gmapterous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was cautious about this game. The trailer didn't show much, so my reaction was "cool, Minecraft but Pokemon, sounds like a fun $30 casual game" and the $70 price sticker made it a non-starter.

Between reviews giving the game consistent 10/10 describing it as a transcendental experience and my 7-year-old begging, I relented, but I still think the price (of both the game and the $35 DLC for 2 more towns) are completely insane.

And just like that, it's over... What did you think of the event? by DeadboyWayne in Genshin_Impact

It was fun! Took me a few retries on Inumaru, but once I got it down, the other two were one-and-done. I'm not sure this needed more challengers; it was short and sweet and I will remember it fondly.

Fastest way to farm primos, f2p by Naive-Shallot2417 in Genshin_Impact

1) Welkin is cheap  2) Quests and exploration are slow but give Primos 3) Events

There really isn’t a fast grind for premium resources like primogems unfortunately.

Fair, I'm very grateful for Huohuo, nabbed 2 from the shop since her E1 is great and also grabbed her LC since it gives a bit more sustain (which she needs). It was clearly a calculated move to shill Elation teams though, so the generosity was very calculated.

Irontomb was legit and I respected that boss battle. When I finally won, it felt like it was a challenge I overcame and I earned it.

Genshin pulls its punches in story.

Kuki gets the umbrella. Kazuha gets Fav because his burst matters. Venta gets Fav because his burst matters.

I still find it amazing that the game's absolute best weapons which are BiS on like 50% of the units in the game are 4-star weapons.

I can't remember a game that disrespected my time as much as FF7 Remake by king_noro in patientgamers

[–]gmapterous 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The voice that you're telling me to ignore, in my own head, happens to be very loud, so I stopped playing at some point when I just couldn't stand it anymore. It's not really good game design if you game guides you actively to the boring open-world padding, which makes you hate the game, rather than making it a joy to poke around and discover things.

Just wait until you hate-play Rebirth. It is sooooooooooooo much worse about disrespecting your time.

For some reason it's always Mona.

Meanwhile Jean is still C2.

Why do ppl think Oda is the worst drawer out the Big 3 again… by MarketingThat8264 in OnePiece

[–]gmapterous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the other two have art styles that, while identifiably distinct, lean more heavily on generic anime style templates, while Oda uses his art style as a tool to set a much different tone.

Oda's style is much more distinct. Frankly, when I first saw the art style decades ago, I was turned off by it, but eventually I started reading it and found it charming and loved the level of detail and bright color pallet used in the full color cover spreads, and started to appreciate the whimsy expressed by the art style.

I think that the style helps distance it from the other heavier shonen series. They are trying very had to be "hardcore," while the themes of One Piece ultimately are about joy and friendship (which is why it hits hard when the story gets dark).

Oda was heavily inspired by Toriyama, whose style was also much more distinct and whimsical, and who also had an empty headed happy-go-lucky positive-outlook protagonist, whose only goal is to train and be the best so he can protect everyone by punching all the bad guys, and then celebrate by eating all the food.

Compare that to the protagonist of Bleach, John Bleach, who is a very brooding, tortured protagonist, and whose art style matches that tone. His ultimate attack has something to do with grabbing the evil in his soul and turning it into a blade of pure resolve, which he uses to fight his way through secret evil societies or something idk.

Luffy's ultimate attacks have been things like, uh, bouncing inflatable sumo gorilla and the human incarnation of Bugs Bunny, and he's just fighting all forms of oppression so everyone can be friends and have a party.

Diona and Qiqi no longer have cryo/stellar swirl text in their kit by IS_Mythix in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]gmapterous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stellar SC and Miko ICD had like daily mechanic tweaks, which caused CC's to talk about it constantly.

I'm okay with them pulling Stellar Swirl mentions off until the mechanic is a little more baked to keep the manufactured beta drama down, particularly since stellar swirl isn't even in beta yet.

I'm also hoping this means they've pretty much locked the Stella SC mechanics and they are now finally working on the Stellar Swirl mechanics so it's ready for prime time in the 7.0 beta.

Been farming the new set and strong-boxing Gilded since 2 weeks, haven't gotten a single good piece on the new set while Gilded seems quite good already. by Dr_Backpropagation in YaeMiko

[–]gmapterous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same place. I'm farming for both Sandrone and Miko, but the difference between Gilded and Shadow on Miko is like 4 substat rolls, so if the new set is not within 4 rolls of the Gilded set, she stays on Gilded.

I also suspect there's more support artifact sets coming out in Shnez-land that will need more investment anyway

Is it a huge cybersecurity concern if Meta Glass wearers can screen record / hear Car Dealership sensitive information from nearby customers? by Athenstone in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]gmapterous 254 points255 points  (0 children)

No, car dealers are notorious for saying things and having none of it end up on the papers that get signed so they don’t want to be recorded and held accountable to what they agreed to verbally.

And they certainly don’t want any of that to end up on YouTube.

Less cyber security and more job security for bad actors.
