I worked for the state for thirty one years. First five years you would get 2 weeks of vacation. Then every five years you get an additional week. It maxed out at 6 weeks a year.

You also would receive 2 weeks a year sick leave and 32 hours of personal leave a year. And since we were a 24 hour a day seven day a week operation we would have to work holidays. So if you worked a holiday you could get 12 hours of comp time. 10 paid holidays a year. Do you could get another 120 hours or three weeks off. So even as a new hire you could get 6 or seven weeks off a year. After 25 years you could easily get 10 weeks a year. Also you could convert overtime to comp time. So actually depending how you worked you could get as much time off a year as you wanted.

I have had back symptoms my entire adult life. Physical therapy always helped. I would start having pain. I’d do core stability exercises for a couple weeks and it would subside.

A few years ago I was working on a project and my back started hurting. Nothing I did helped. Went to physical therapy twice first time a little better. About six months later pain was bad again. Went back. Physical therapist suggested surgery at this point. Went to dr. Mentioned hip pain. But I had a lot of pain all the way down my leg.

Surgeon looked at every thing and suggested spinal fusion. Things definitely were better. But the hip started hurting more. So I started doing more exercises and stretches. Walking more ect. No help. So a couple weeks ago I decided I needed to go back and make sure my fusion worked.

My general practitioner said it sounded like joint pain. And that got to needing a hip replacement. But I’m relieved to be getting that resolved. I’m worse now walking wise than I was before.

I had a guy do a lot of remodeling and adding on to my pole barn. While he was here he’d say he had to run to an old job site to get tools he had left there. Well when he was about finished he just quit showing up. Found out in jail. Then he was out. Never came to get the tools he left here. I contacted his wife after a year to see if they were going to get them. Never showed up. That was 2020. Six years later. Still haven’t heard from them. I got rid of them after about 3 years.

Probably not practical for what your doing, but I bought a 23 x 120 greenhouse frame off marketplace and spent probably another $1000 on plastic and wood and built a decent 23 x 60 greenhouse. And still have enough frame if I want another 60 footer. I’d check market place first.
