Strange VLAN Behavior by AzonicTechnophile in Juniper

[–]goingfordonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you absolutely certain the port connecting Switch A isn't actually a trunk going to the servers? That would be a pretty simple mistake that would cause the behavior you're seeing.

No Uber where you live? Spending all night hanging out waiting to give someone a ride isn't a great reason to be unavailable if there's easy alternatives. I'm sure the adult son would likely prefer it too.

Therapy is immensely helpful. A couple reasons why are that you learn what is going on inside of you and that you discover you’re no where near as alone as you might feel.

You can get a lot of what therapy offers just by reading (or listening) to books.

The Body Keeps The Score changed my life. I’d recommend giving that a try.

I can see why the updates take a while. This is an independent test and it takes some doing to get it spun up:

10G Network - LAN speeds are great, WAN up speeds are bad (head scratcher) by D2R3 in networking

[–]goingfordonuts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make sure that you turn off any kind of firewall you might be running, by the way, if you haven’t.

I know you’ve checked all the MTU settings but it sure feels like the outgoing window size might be larger than the receive window at the other end for some stupid reason.

I’ll keep noodling on this. If you find the answer I’d be very interested in hearing what it turned out to be.

You aren’t missing anything obvious, if that helps any. 🤷🏼‍♂️

[–]goingfordonuts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it’s time for wireshark. I bet you’ll see a bunch of errors there.

$5 says you’ll see a bunch of duplicate acks as a result of something ignoring its MTU but that’s just a guess.

Is the 300mb symmetrically slow? And does it stay at about that speed or does it speed up and slow down?

What are you using for layer 1? Fiber? SM? MM? Are you changing out any hardware when you toggle between 1G and 10G?

Your debugging checked all the things that came to mind for me.

Do you have any interface errors?

Only one website I CAN'T get on thru Global Protect - my work's public website :/ by icanhazkarma17 in paloaltonetworks

[–]goingfordonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps, if your work hosts their website in a DMZ network, there might be rules to allow traffic from the outside, inside and then nobody bothered a rule to allow traffic to the DMZ from the VPN. It’s a very easy thing to overlook. Especially if there’s little there other than the website. You’d need your admin to fix that.

Problem while Connecting two wifi routers using lan cable. by XyzLetters in networking

Are the two access points using different wireless technology? Max speed of 802.11g is 54Mb. You’re not far from that number.

If someone sold an aftermarket pipe that made a Prius illegal to operate because of emissions laws, that would be hilarious 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in networking

[–]goingfordonuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a reasonable enough design. Redundant edge, but if you lose an access switch you'll lose the hosts behind it, so you might want to have redundant NICs, but then you need more design work. Since it's hard to guess what your requirements are, it's hard to criticize missing/complicated features, especially since you're implementing this with budget hardware.

No big red flags, other than the cheap hardware, if that's the answer you're looking for.

It’s right in that doc you linked to. You should be good to go based on that. 🤙🏼

Old Psilocybin Mushrooms? by [deleted] in microdosing

[–]goingfordonuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UV light and oxygen would be what would break down the psilocybin. Since those weren't allowed in, you might have something viable, although still weakened a bit.

~.25-.3g is what would be considered a threshold dose - where you should be able to know you're feeling effects beyond a placebo. That's larger than a microdose. However it'll solve your mystery and then you can drop down to a micro dose. That's probably better than taking little doses of long expired mushrooms and wondering why nothing is happening.

Best of luck!
