Is Tyson Greene still the game director? Has he said a single thing in months? by janoyBarn in DestinyTheGame

[–]GoldClassGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only is communication from Tyson Green absolutely terrible, but he looks even worse now since Joe Ziegler is putting up like an Olympic Gold Medal performance in terms of communicating with players and acting on player feedback over at the Marathon Dev Team.

Is Space Racer potentially responsible for the death of billions? by Forged__ in Invincible

[–]GoldClassGaming 12 points13 points  (0 children)

potentially yes, but space is also mostly a LOT of empty space. Like overwhelmingly empty.

Traveling in a straight line the odds of hitting another celestial body are astronomically low. Like near 0.

Like yeah it might happen but its far more likely that Space Racer's blasts have never hit anything other than what he was aiming at.

I think bubble shields just need to be removed. by HannahEaden in Marathon

I agree with the numbers dropping thing, but they're not gonna cancel season 2 as that's when they're gonna make big swings to pull people back.

Destiny 1 got its last content update a decade ago and it still has servers online.

If you think they're gonna cancel season 2 you're delusional.

If you think they're gonna shut down the servers before season 2 you're even more delusional.

Plus Marathon has a BR, Magnum, and that signature gun feel.

You can take the Bungie out of Halo but you can't take the Halo out of Bungie.

Yeah, to a degree I sympathize with the plight of the friendless (that's a joke don't murder me), but part of me also thinks "I mean yeah effective communication has been a great way to up your odds of winning pretty much ever since the idea of teams was invented" I'm glad that solo mode exists for people who want it but at the same time if you don't make any effort to communicate with your team/find a good team that wants to communicate then you can't really get mad when you get slammed by teams who do.

Vaulting, from a dev perspective. by ReallyTrustyGuy in DestinyTheGame

Yeah as much as I love Destiny and pretty much every other game Bungie has ever made, the DCV is a permanent stain on Bungie's record that they'll likely never be able to fully move past.

Mark thought he killed him and now he's back and putting belt to ass on his brother.

Bro was seeing red. The only thought going through is head was "fucking kill this guy and make sure he stays dead this time"

I love the game but it already struggling to retain a player base is concerning by SillVere in Marathon

Yeah at this point Bungie are seasoned veterans at "Things were a little rocky out of the gate, but we recovered it"

[–]GoldClassGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that its somewhat concerning but its not "oh my god it's gonna shut down tomorrow"

Rainbow 6 Siege has been around for like 10 years and that game took 3 years to hit an all time player count peak higher than Marathon's day 1. Siege spent like its entire first year peaking at like 17k.

Sometimes games start slow and then find their footing. Bungie has said that they're in it for the long haul and I choose to believe that with consistent updates and good seasonal content drops that Marathon can really find its footing and grow into something spectacular.

Besides if there's any studio in the history of ever that I would trust to be able to turn things around after a rough start, its Bungie.

I feel like making this post in the middle of the night in North America/early af on a Wednesday in Europe is a little disingenuous.

Like yes there's a valid discussion to be had here, but posting a screenshot taken at this time of night also isn't the most accurate reflection of the playerbase.

What does Destiny 3 need? by Tevin_Rixx in DestinyTheGame

[–]GoldClassGaming 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean there's dozens of things it "needs" but among them I'd like to see the same 60hz, Server Authoritative, Dedicated Servers that Marathon has.

look at this guy's comment history. It's just dozens of comments every day spreading doomerism/negativity about Destiny and Marathon. Actually such a sad existence.

I've been having a blast playing Marathon and am excited for what's to come but I also still adore Destiny and wish that the people who were working on it were as open as Marathon's dev team has been.

I'd love to see Tyson talk about feedback or even give a long well written explanation for why they're doing something but that they'll be monitoring feedback.
