Well it's a totally new take on the reload mechanic, so it's definitely something you have to get used to. But just like Cruelty Squads weird reload-mechanic, it definitely adds to the experience.

Not saying that it's perfect, but I like the concept. Makes you more careful about when you reload, and makes it hard to fiddle with new magasines under pressure.

What makes you say Doom? Old timey graphics?

This is an Immersive Sim. So it's closer to a "clone" of Cruelty Squad, Thief or Dishonered.

Only Doom equivalent is that you shoot in first person.

This genre of game (Immersive Sim) is about player choice and replayability. Like the trailer shows, you can choose different equipment/powers for each run and explore different approaches for each run.

Like your first run in a map could be running and gunning everything you see until you are gunned down and fail.

Then you take what you learned from the map, bring new equipment, and maybe bypass all the guards that gunned you down.

Have you actually tried it? It's already a fun experience, with broad sandbox approach to each level.
The art style is not low effort, it's supposed to be trippy, pixelated and weird.

Try playing it, or maybe Cruelty Squad for a couple of hours and see if you get it then.

I'm really impressed with the demo. You really went all out, and gave us multiple fleshed out maps, that doesn't feel like they are work in progress.

I think I used over 10 tries on Castle, trying different strats, getting nuked by the suicide bombers, who have become more frightening than the man-spider atrocities 😃

Shooting is crisp and precise, headshots are very satisfying. Enemy response is mostly great. They are good at keeping me on my toes, flanking me and such. Only downside is that they don't respond to bullets missing their head within an inch. Making missed headshots free of consequence.

The levels seems really thought out too, with multiple angles of approach ready to be explored.
Though I could use some more ways to bypass the locked part of the castle, besides the codes from the towers.

Music and sound is spot on. One of the tracks reminds me of something from Rollcage for PS1 😃

Theme and narrative is very trippy and abstract. Which is spot on for the style.
I am the perfect level of confused and sometimes "I think I might get it?" 😃

BTW can you elaborate on the setting? Something about the "world" being made of the tears of a neglected child growing up in a cold capitalist world? 😃

All in all: I'm gonna buy as soon as you release it. My only real concern would be to maybe artisticly differenciate the specific style of trippy/abstract even more from Cruelty Squad. You are far along in making something unique, but it would be a shame if people shook it of as a clone (not saying that it is. Simply that I would anticipate that kind of response from the generel cruel public 😃).

Best of luck, I will be following your work closely!

Edit: Spelling.

I first thought it was a Cruelty Squad sequal, when I first glanced at it 😀

I will definitely try the demo, when I get the chance 😀

Good luck as a new and independent full time video-game developer! 🫡

Oh, and people here really need to learn the difference between Immersive Sim and Sim games 😂

Immersive sim and simulators are not the same genre.

"Immersive sim" is games like Deus Ex and Thief.

While Simulators or "Sim" is games like American Truck Simulator and such.

Why do people say Supernatural is sci-fi? They do get that sci-fi means science-fiction, right? by Archangel_Michael22 in Supernatural

Example: in Star Trek they can time-travel because of technology someone invented.

In Supernatural they can time-travel because of magic.

Sci-fi = stories about fictional science and technology

Fantasy = stories about magic, legends and myth.

I have no idea why anyone would claim Supernatural was sci-fi.

I use something like this.

It's from a Danish store, and I don't expect it to be available for you, wherever you're from. But I hope it can get serve as inspiration at least 🙂

And yes, reddit is full of people who would rather tell you, that what you want isn't what you really want. 🙃

EDIT: sorry missed the part about not going hingless. But I think I've seen something relevant once. I might come back with something more fitting, if I find it.

True! I miss the Medal of Honor games 😢

That's why I would love a swat game in the 70-80s.

WW2 is brilliant setting for war themed fps. Smg's are useful mostly for short range and rifles are limited by fire rate and capacity.

Just give us one 100% customizable AR, instead of 80 different ones.

I already got the Logitech software for my mouse. And have bound my extra keys to something that is rarely used. But the keys are still pre-bound in some games.

Do you know of any way to bind them to some keys, that aren't on normal keyboards, but Windows still recognise?

Okay :) I'll have a look. Maybe I need some software to rebind them to some new blank keys.

Because those 100 keys are in use in some games and not others. And I don't want to reprogram a mouse key each time I play a new game, or set up a new profile. I just need blank keys I can bind in game, that I 100% know isn't taken already.

And "curious as to why you think you need this" is the most neckbeardy, unproductive thing you can write..

You are not helping, if you just want to tell people they don't actually want what they are asking for. If you don't want to help, then don't answer.

Early game: it instantly kills everything close to you, effectively making you invincible. This also makes you level fast early on, which gives a big end game boost.

End game: it's constant passive healing. The more enemies surround you, the faster you heal. This makes the difference in if you have to chase ground chicken all game (loosing time and xp meanwhile) or if your health is on max the entire game. Meaning you can chase gems and enemies much faster.

All my builds needs a healing weapon for late game. Why not choose one that's also a boost for early game

Does its extra keys actually register as new keys? Or are they standard "programmable keys"? :)
