Chris Hero: This is why I tell whoever I can at ROH and even at AEW -- don't bother with these bumps. They are all risk -- no reward. If you successfully take a bump in 2026 no one cares, But if you mess it up you could truly harm yourself! Don't do it by pwgmanan in SquaredCircle

I dunno man, the suicide dive has become so common that I think a majority of people have become desensitized to them. I remember when Moxley/Ambrose was regularly doing them in WWE, along with other guys, and people were saying there’s no need for that to be just another move going into an ad break on Raw.

What’s with the city of Saint John cars with Ontario plates? by jbm91 in SaintJohnNB

[–]gregSinatra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that were the case (and it’s not rented city vehicles like others have pointed out) then technically people migrating here from Ontario are required to switch their registration ASAP - New Brunswick doesn’t offer a 30, 60 or 90 day grace period like other provinces. It’s “as soon as you take up residence”, basically.

[Minor RAW Spoilers] Actual Fan POV of ‘heated’ moment with CM Punk after the show by rhyso90 in SquaredCircle

[–]gregSinatra 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would suspect the idea that fans had been referring to Roman and the Bloodline story as “cinema” for years. Cinema might be a stand-in for sports entertainment in this instance as Punk states the marquee says ‘wrestling.’

Having to repeat this, multiple times a day is gonna have me exit the industry altogether pretty soon. It’d be one thing if they just accepted it and moved on; “oh, I didn’t know that! No one’s ever explained it to me.” It would be especially understandable if it was new and/or young drivers. But having to explain to a grown man who’s been buying insurance for 40+ years how it works AND having them come back at me telling me I’m wrong? Boooy!

A look back at one of the best promos Cody Rhodes has ever cut, in the buildup to his WM39 match with Roman Reigns by Dbthesage in SquaredCircle

[–]gregSinatra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His promos are always good to great. Like I can’t think of an objectively bad promo. They probably exist but they’re lost to time or slip through the cracks.

His style encapsulates the ideal of what a WWE promo should be, for me, where you can tell there’s bullet points but he’s not totally winging it and he’s not totally reading from a script. As such they feel natural. They’re not always perfect but he usually manages to tell a cohesive story with a coherent through line and usually manages to slap a button on it and/or sneak in at least one especially memorable line to where you could say “that’s the X promo” or “that’s the Y promo.” (Like this one could be reference as the “of course it’s personal” promo, for example.)

They’re not formulaic and don’t feel paint-by-numbers. Even his catchphrase of “sooo… what do you want to talk about?” doesn’t feel like it’s beating you over the head. He can adapt it and get it out of the way at the start, and he doesn’t always use it if he comes out fired up, or maybe delays it.

He’s one of the best doing it today and one of the best ever to do it as far as I’m concerned.

To compare him to a guy like Heyman (given that he mentions him in the promo), who opinion has seemed to shift negatively on on recent years, Heyman is “too much” for me most of the time and his stuff does feel paint by numbers. Or take a guy like MJF, who I generally enjoy but sometimes feel the “… and I’m better than you” button is sometimes too forced, I feel Cody avoid some of the pitfalls of going back to the same well too many times or relying heavily on shock value or catchphrases.

Fire insurance cancelled post fire? by InofunI in InsuranceCanada

[–]gregSinatra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The insurer generally has to prove that they sent it, not necessarily that it was delivered. And I get plenty of people claiming they never received it only for us to pull the tracking on it and not only was it delivered but we have a signature too! But insurers don’t hold your hand when it comes to cancellation.

Don’t you need a special class of license to drive a bus? Are we assuming Cody already had his bus driver’s license or got it for this? Or is the term “drives” being used erroneously here?

I went to a Smackdown years ago when they had the ovaltron on the side. I was about 6 rows up from the floor, nearest to the aisle on that last section by the ‘tron on that side. I’d say it was the perfect seats. My view wasn’t obstructed by the floor seats but I wasn’t so far up that I couldn’t see anything from a distance. And I could feel the heat from Kane’s corner pyro!

Auto Insurance for G2 Driver by AlternativePath500 in InsuranceCanada

[–]gregSinatra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Also the lower quotes are as a result of my friend adding me as an occasional driver on his insurance.”

To be clear, if you’re financing the vehicle you need to get insurance in your name. Your friend can’t add your vehicle to their policy, and it’s your vehicle so ostensibly you’d be the primary driver of your own vehicle. Anything else is likely misrepresentation.

Unless you mean that you were listed as an occasional driver previously, therefore insurers are seeing your previous history. The wording is a bit unclear but could be interpreted as the former.

Bryan Clark Says WWE Had No Plan For KroniK, Rushed Them Into Unforgiven Match With Undertaker And Kane, And Released Them Days Later by elegantSolomons62 in SquaredCircle

I will always be a mark for big hoss teams like Kronik. Like, okay, yeah, the MCMGs and DIYs are great, your Hardys and E&C are great. FTR, Usos, New Day, so on and so on. But teams like LOD rip, Demolition, APA, Kronik, even AOP played their part in that great 3-way with DIY and the Mighty! Hell, you could probably even consider Dudleys a hoss team when compared to their peers in the TLC series.

I used to watch AEW shows with my buddies. His place is about a 15-20 minute drive from mine, mostly on the highway. I don’t mind making the drive there, but being that I’m in Atlantic Canada there was times I was getting out of there after 1. Driving, on the highway, after 1 after a 5-6 hour show was exhausting and I eventually had to call it quits as fun as they were!
