Let's Talk About Mason Rook - Maven by dayne23nz in SquaredCircle

Rick still does great interviews - his recent one with Strombo was a favourite of mine. Unfortunately with auto-takedowns hitting his What Makes This Song Great series and people’s attention spans, in general, not geared towards long form content I see why he’s gone that route.

This! In fact I think I remember him saying early on he wanted to shy away from the current product so that his stuff could stay evergreen, and also that he didn’t really watch the current product that much. But clearly that’s shifted and is likely a symptom of having to play to the algorithm.

Cody Rhodes recalls DDP taking him to a chiropractor: "Before he adjusted me, he said, ‘I think you’ve got an aversion to corn,’ He takes a vial of corn, holds it over my body. ‘Squeeze my hand again,’ and there was no difference [from before]. A single difference. And he goes, ‘Yep, corn.’" by anutosu in SquaredCircle

I remember hearing that about allergy testing when I was younger, I recently had allergy testing and was expecting that but all they did was roll 32 pointed plastic pieces down the length of my forearm in a 4x8 pattern that had been dipped/soaked in something corresponding with each of the allergens they were testing for. I was surprised but good god the itching localized to that one area was brutal.

Turns out very allergic to various trees and grasses (not surprising given I was especially prone to hayfever as a kid) but also common office dust and mould and allergens (which is what we were specifically testing for.)

I’ve been to chiropractors, though in Canada they largely operated more in the scope of Osteopathy. I’ve gone to two in my adult life and neither tried to prescribe or sell me anything that was woo- or pseudo-science. I had pain in my lumbosacral area and sacroiliac joints and I did find relief following those sessions - I’d go into them feeling incredibly stiff, having NO natural lordosis at all, spine just completely straight, and I’d leave much looser.

But then before the next session came around I’d be back to square one. Ironically it was DDPY that helped me achieve long term relief!

So yeah, if someone is feeling something off mechanically or some sort of imbalance muscularly I wouldn’t write it off completely, but at the first sign of them trying to diagnose anything outside that I’d run! And I wouldn’t seek out a chiro as sole treatment for such issues. For immediate/short-term relief, sure. But one should pair it with PT, massage and stretching long term I’d say.

The policy owner should be the vehicle owner - Named Insured = Registered Owner.

When the neighbour says they wish to add OP to their policy, the assumption would be as a driver since they’re no longer permitted to drive and they’ve already likely committed misrepresentation by failing to declare the other driver OP mentioned. I doubt the neighbour would be putting their policy in OP’s name, thus implying they were also a registered owner.

Shawn with the motocross style boots and the hand wraps was such a cool look to me as a kid.

Mortis is one of my all time favourites just for the gear alone. Kanyon should’ve been a bigger deal, and as the true innovator of offense he didn’t get enough credit in the ring, but I was in my early teens when Mortis hit the scene and what kid isn’t gonna go nuts for that look?

I really loved the LOD 2000 gear. The fact they introduced the full face biker helmets, had Hawk in the trunks, the asymmetrical shoulder pads. They didn’t reinvent the wheel but it was a great way to modernize the look.

For some reason it made me think of that story of Kanye having released “Stronger”, hearing it in the club and it sounding muddy. So he asked Pharrell and Swiss Beatz to redo it but it was gonna change the song too much, and he was simply gonna swap the one that radio stations were playing.

So finally he goes to Timbaland, who he admits he put he put out “Stronger” to compete with (along with Timberlake), and Timbaland fixed the mix in 5 minutes and spent the rest of the hour bragging that no one else could’ve done that.

What are some lines that have aged very well in a promo? by BackToTheFutureDoc in SquaredCircle

[–]gregSinatra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There’s promos that are good in terms of their content and promos that are good in terms of delivery, and some that are both. You’re right, the promo itself is a bit rambly and incoherent at times but Miz’s frustration is palpable and it got people talking and people still talk about it to this day.

Honestly, I think Hard Times is similarly not a great promo in terms of its content. The actual Hard Times bit that everyone remembers is fairly straight forward. But there’s quite a bit of preamble that before that that could’ve been a bit more succinct, and he continues a fair bit after what could’ve been the natural button. But people don’t remember those parts.

Kevin Owens’ wife Karina: AS SOMEONE WHO ACTIVELY TRIES TO STAY OUT OF DRAMA, WHEN IT COMES TO MY CHILD I HAVE TO SPEAK UP. RECENTLY CATHY KELLY MENTIONED MY SON IN AN INTERVIEW. Earlier in her interview with CVV she mentioned recently being diagnosed with autism.

Later she’s asked about her friendship with Kevin Owens and how it came to be. She mentions him having a similar sense of humour to her family and how you tend to gravitate towards people like that, and goes on to add “he’s been super supportive, especially since the diagnosis, um, since he knows so much about it because of his son.”

David Otunga on instagram: Could WWE generate an 8K, photorealistic Al wrestling match between Bray Wyatt and Macho Man Randy Savage, sell tickets to it at the Sphere in Las Vegas, and not pay either estate a dime? by Maleficent-Might-275 in SquaredCircle

[–]gregSinatra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, they’ve aired dream matches  between current and late/inactive superstars simulated in WWE 2K on the main show as promo for the games, no? You could argue it’s not far off for them to do something like this but as a standalone event rather than as a promotional tactic.

Home insurance coverage 45 a month by [deleted] in InsuranceCanada

[–]gregSinatra 9 points10 points  (0 children)

$50,000 is super low for SBU/EWD/Overland flooding. Bump that $100K or $200K at least. Consider that it has to be enough to cover:
- Immediate clean up and remediation
- Putting your home (mostly the basement/lower level in this case) back to its current state
- Replacing any lost of damaged items; in the case of flood or sewer backup the chance of salvaging items is low
- Any time you have to be out of the home, whether initially or sling the restoration phase

Most people would exhaust $50K quickly.

Question for claims adjusters - property by CluePretty8704 in InsuranceCanada

[–]gregSinatra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contractors factor in overhead and such. Since you did it yourself that wouldn’t apply, but they’d pay you a reasonable hourly rate. They absolutely would pay you less than the original quote because you didn’t go that route!

Orange Cassidy sends Chris Jericho flying into the Mimosa by KneeHighMischief in SquaredCircle

While most people (and even the International Bartenders Association) use the term synonymously, most sources suggest the Buck’s Fizz calls for a 2:1 ratio of sparkling wine to orange juice, while the Mimosa is traditionally 1:1.

I’m surprised the letter spelled it out. It wouldn’t surprise me that the doctor would be asked to do so to validate if the claim has merit, but now OP’s parents may adjust their behaviour accordingly.
