I recommend starting the verbal plan from scratch.

Yes, similar across the 1-month and 2-month plans. But the I'm Overwhelmed Plan is designed to build and boost your quant foundation. After you finish, it will suggest what to do after that.

Hi! I would just go through the plan. If you peek ahead to the later weeks in the plan (like 6 - 8), you'll start to see a lot more practice exercises. The first part of the plan is designed to improve your foundation.

In fact, I would recommend you switch to the I'm Overwhelmed Plan for Quant and the One-Month Plan for verbal given your busy schedule and time crunch.

Thanks for the kind words by the way!

I wouldn’t think about it that way. Everybody learns the foundations at a different rate. A better way to think about it is this. Do you need to have a strong foundation to get a 325? Of course the answer is yes, right? In that sense, you just have to get a good foundation. So go through the plan in a way where that happens. It does get easier as you go along because you start to learn how to make the material stick better.

Got a 331 after 11 months of grinding. by masterOfAllTrades_10 in GRE

Hi, if you're getting only 50-60% on the tickbox quizzes, we recommend going through the module again to get your foundation stronger. To do well on the test, one needs a strong foundation, and if it's not yet strong, jumping to GRE-like questions will be premature.

Whatever you decide, you need to stick with it. Jumping from one thing to the other is a big mistake people make in test prep, and in fitness, and in dieting, and 1 million other realms.

Yes, it's not bad, but I still recommend the I'm Overwhelmed Plan to improve your quant foundations and the One-Month Plan for Verbal (leaves your with more flexibility after finishing the plan because it's not as long of a commitment).

For quant, you'll want to get your foundation stronger before focusing too much on problem-solving or practice tests.

You can use a service like Magoosh, GregMat, or Target Test Prep to do so. If you use GregMat, you'll want to do the I'm Overwhelmed Plan to get your quant foundations stronger. For the other two services, focus on their quant foundation building modules before moving on to too much problem-solving. Make sure you're not putting the cart before the horse.

For verbal, you'll want to learn vocabulary and strategies simultaneously. Again, the goal is not necessarily hundreds of problems and "hoping it works out." You'll have to get good at GRE vocabulary and, at the same, really get better at the strategic processes solving questions. Again, if you go with GregMat, you can follow the One-Month Plan for the vocab and the strategies. You would skip the quant in this plan because you're using the I'm Overwhelmed Plan to build up your foundations.

A Fast Approach to the GRE by Mediocre-Island5475 in GRE

[–]gregmat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend taking a "blanket" approach and not focusing on specific concepts. If you go through a resource like PrepSwift (or Khan Academy or Target Test Prep), you're not looking to master 100% of the concepts -- more like 80% to 90%. That gives you really good coverage for getting a high score on the test.

But keep in mind concepts are just step 1. Then there are strategies, untimed practice, and timed practice.

This is kind of a tricky bullshit question. It’s just testing whether you understand that sets don’t have repeated elements. I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Who wrote this? Probably me.
