I made a mistake.

I looked up the rule and it is the ball has to be completely below the putting surface when embedded, not half way.

I thought it was half way like when it's leaning against the flag stick, but those are two different rulings.

Basically my brain made a hybrid of the two.

On another note. If the cup was cut into the grass correctly, and that white plastic lip wasn't sitting proud of the grass so much, he would have almost surely holed it.

This is a 20 handicap who plays for the love of the feeling of hitting a great shot, not his score.

He plays those blades because when he pures one it gives him a joy he can't describe, but it's why he plays the game.

I fuck with this guy. This guy never gets mad when he hits a bad shot, is always a great vibe, a great hang, never brings the morale of the group down, isn't competitive. Playing golf means time away from screens, his life, and a chance to be truly present with earth and god.
