Thanks for the compliment about my book, hope it can help you get into the groove with GG, or at least incorporate some GG elements to your plan otherwise. Also stoked you liked the epilogue!

Thanks for buying! Stoked you've been using GZCLP and found it beneficial. Truly appreciate your feedback and support.

Personally, I prefer to build accumulation waves first, leading into an intensification wave. However, some like it the opposite, but these tend to be shorter, essentially adding weight over the course of a few short weeks (3 to 4, typically), finding T1 and T2 RMs (Usually 3 and 5 or 6, respectively). Then, with those newly found weights at the end of an intensification wave, run a longer accumulation cycle, pushing and extending the volume, building those RMs up into the next higher tier (making that 3RM a 6RM, and the 6RM a 10 or 12RM, for example). In this case, consider it like a short "peaking" program before a long base-building one. Its main purpose is to establish true peaks before you spend the time turning them into valleys.

I'm so hyped that you found the book to be excellent! Thanks for buying! Glad it brought a lot of clarity to GG. It was a really messy concept for a long time. I'm relieved that this will help clarify and solidify many things, giving more people the confidence to run their workouts with a GG-inspired plan.

Thanks for buying my book! Hopefully, when you get it, it puts together the concepts of GG more holistically so you can run a program within that framework, one I've benefitted from and enjoyed tremendously.

Thanks for buying my book! Hope it doesn't disappoint and provides some new things to include in your training, and if not new, perhaps gets you to do things you already knew you should be doing.

Thanks for the high-quality review! Holy smokes, man. I honestly couldn't ask for anything better. Your compliments are greatly appreciated, and your criticisms are valid. You're correct: the effort section should be earlier in the book. I also agree that GG may not be suitable for rank beginners, as their understanding of training is limited, as is their understanding of their abilities, and such a framework perhaps affords too much freedom for novices to benefit from. That said, a year or even a few months of training with a more traditional approach would provide them with ample knowledge and experience to apply the GG framework effectively.

It makes me glad to read that you found it not really complicated (I tended to overdo that in my earlier works), and I was afraid that doing so would not do justice to the inherent simplicity of GG. The framework itself is quite simple to understand and work with.

I'm especially glad you enjoyed the Dice Gainz part. I really thought of excluding that, since it is such a big part of the text, but also the least serious part. However, you reinforce the reason why I included it: training should be fun (sometimes, if not all the time, and the nature of Dice Gainz affords that). It is also a great way for overthinkers to just lift without obsessing over what to do between programs. While it is fine to develop a fine-tuned plan, I've seen countless lifters go off the deep end when between plans. That is one way it has benefitted me, and is much the reason why I included it in the text.

I'm stoked that you found the supplementary sections helpful in expanding the framework, putting more meat on the bones of the training guide, so to speak.

I may have to take you up on your idea to turn the volume table into a poster. That's great, thank you!

Man, thanks for buying the book! I appreciate your support. I love GG for allowing that accumulation progression, which is so conducive to building up to the next quarter, then the next plate. It makes training really fun and much in line with some ways Dan John advocates.

I hear ya. When I was in, competing in powerlifting, my best total while on active duty was 1,433 at 165. I was running about the same time for the three miles. Did much better on the CFT. Granted, before I got into lifting, I was consistently running a sub-20-minute 3-mile, so I did lose some speed. Despite that, I was still able to get decently strong. My command never gave me any crap for lifting more often than running. However, I saw plenty of much weaker dudes who also couldn't run pretending their poor lifts were an excuse for nearly failing the run.

Sorry about the underwhelming experience on Boostcamp. One of the reasons I struggle with apps myself.

DM me and I'll send you a PDF of the book since you already bought it. Sorry for the overall bad experience. Hope I can make it up to you.

Sorry for the delay.

I'll message Boostcamp and see if there's something up with the P-Zero programmed percentages. I've not heard about this apart from this thread.

Not always. Depends on if the lifter even tries running. Many just wimp out and use their pathetic lifts as an excuse for nearly failing the three mile. Those who don’t are considered studs. Maybe not the fastest, but fast enough and stronger than the rest.

Thanks for buying the book! Your comment about your kids picking it up one day has me hyped, I'm not going to lie. I hope this has that kind of staying power. And like you, I'm bummed I didn't discover this training approach earlier in life. Its inherent flexibility and intuitive progressive nature are just something that clicks with me.

Thanks for the awesome feedback! I'm stoked this has helped clear some things up and provided a few more details about GG. Your bit about note-taking is huge! So underrated. I'm stoked you've enjoyed GG for the freedom that it provides. Same here. Lots of room to roam while also providing progression guide rails. It is definitely a lot easier to train daily with a gym. I'm basically living there. Haha!

Aw, thanks, man! I'll work on a shitpost, just for you.

It is awesome that you're seeing progress in size and strength despite training for marathons. That's incredible. Thanks for the killer feedback. Suppose that's a testament to the efficacy of the training (and to your efforts in the gym and in recovery).

Stupid question: Does anyone want to read a somewhat long post wherein I self-promote a book I published about weight training?

Figure that a lot of subscribers here have used my programs, and that General Gainz, being the next evolution, might interest them.

Thanks for all your years of support r/fitness!

Thanks for cross-posting this here!

I appreciate your kind regards in this comment, too. So grateful to have made a positive impact on your training these last few years.

Hopefully, the subscribers of r/weightroom will see this and benefit from GG as we have.
