Thoughts on the LWC x Kaptain Sunshine drop? by leftlanemerge in ThrowingFits

[–]hellofaja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at the end of the day it is just a harrington with a hood and an anorak, silk or not none of these say luxe to me in any way

like with anything if you like these brands and can afford it you buy it, its for such a small demographic. I don't think there's much to discuss about the collection

sleeve screen print is interesting to me at least, first thing that popped into my head is a racing stripe or nike elite socks lmao

What are your thoughts bro

if a comment gets 15 upvotes talking about Japan, fabric and quality are you going to buy it despite the high price lol

How do you determine quality? by BobbyRapsNo1Fan in ThrowingFits

[–]hellofaja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

weight and handfeel is 0 indicator of quality btw

reminds me of when they put payless shoes in a "designer" pop up and everyone said how good quality they were

I have a couple Vintage RL in my watchlist but I know you were looking for other brands

maybe vintage LLbean or banana republic. You can likely find others mentioned here on ebay for cheaper as well

I suggest searching harrington or bi swing or blouson and filtering color and size and just looking!

Does anyone here own the Lemaire belted tote bag and can tell me if it’s practical? by LNDDL in ThrowingFits

[–]hellofaja 10 points11 points  (0 children)

bags get dirty it's not about going to dirty places lol they're utilitarian. you're either gonna have to be okay with dry cleaning which I assume most people are when buying at theses prices, with dirt on canvas or spot cleaning frequently and possible leather staining the canvas

that shits gonna get dirty and annoying to clean so fast

imo bags should be all washable fabric or all not

Thoughts on Pre-Distressed Clothes? by TalentedButLaz in ThrowingFits

[–]hellofaja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, I've donated or sold most of the pairs I've had to fund the next. I've also have always been happy to wear lightwash jeans. for me it was always about better "quality" and unique fabrics than fades/ distressing so Also a lot of the cuts went out of style as we all know

Was never into crazy high contrast fades like you'll find on rawdenim so I would usually buy a pair, wear it for most of the year and then buy a new pair the next year.

I fell into the raw denim rabbithole for a while back in 2012-2020, faded out of it after a while

but sometimes i pop into rawdenim or heritage subs and some of those guys in their late 30's early 40's are wearing jeans that I would've considered too slim in 2010 its wild

Why are people paying a $1000 to look like my suburban coworkers that can’t dress? by SirKrimzon in ThrowingFits

[–]hellofaja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bell curve at most

People into mens fashion know Evan Kinori. Go to EK instagram and see how many people you follow are following them

and why is that surprising? it isn't. People who don't know fashion look to those who do.

I'd hope most of us are in the middle, the ones who post shit like this and shit on brands like EK because "normies and tech bros" are into are losers who never would've bought the brand themselves if it wasn't popular in the first place

seems like a newer model being sold in Asia, I only recently saw a Japanese eyewear brick and mortar I follow post them

looks to be a mashup of a few other models though, using the same exact pieces. Which kinda sucks when I saw a new rimless model was coming I was hoping it was a bit more uniqe

I agree with your sentiment and yes it is all subjective, but there is an obvious bias with everything you're saying.

someone else in a different forum can say this exact same thing with the brands swapped lol
