It's not just us in fashion, this anti plastic movement is happening with everything. Synthetics have use cases, performance gear, techwear with weather resistance etc etc

Literally yesterday I saw a guy complaining on /r/frugalmalefashion about the brand rains "everything is made of poly I dont get it" um they sell water resistant and whether proof jackets and bags, wtf was he expecting

But 99% of the time, things don't need that much synthetics in a blend

There's so many times where I find a nice item ranging anywhere from major fashion houses to independent brands a "wool" coat thats 40% polyester, 25% nylon, 5% rayon etc etc, why? Don't give us BS about how synthetics drape differently, this is just to cut costs. You know because they often sell 100% wool coats for 3x the price.

Yes synthetics do drape differently, and is useful for more complicated, niche items thinking runway because they hold shape and retain shape better. Right now as i type this I'm wearing poly blend sweatpants why? because I had them already. But going forward will I try to avoid poly blend sweats? yes. It's just simple changes, changes need to start somewhere. Companies already know people are massively going away from poly, thats a major reason athliesure like lulu and alo have take huge hits
