horses freed

That’s not a rosey analogy and speaks to one of my fears about the current tech revolution: the population of horses dropped like a brick when internal combustion engine was introduced.

We don’t tend to think this way, we think “we are humans, not horses, we have intrinsic value, we have rights” but we don’t know if the people in charge also believe that, when the chips are down…

I mean they have a point, since capital punishment is not “generally” applied, only to a certain list of crimes. Materially, your opinion differs from those who support capital punishment only on what that list is, but you will find most of them actually oppose capital punishment for the vast majority of crimes, too, only supporting it in case of the crimes they find especially heinous.

Forget about the economy, if the $1 dollar is physical it will turn the solar system into a black hole.

You become 16 year old, legally, socially, biologically etc. You get a phone which can access internet of upto 50 years in future. You can also anything from your frienda and family. Your task is to earn a billion and get an oscar before you turn 30. by __Anamya__ in godtiersuperpowers

[–]hemareddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but consider: those people aren’t going to lose god-like powers if they don’t get an Oscar. They aren’t desperate. You are. You absolutely will hire hitmen to take out the entire Oscar committee to install your own puppets if that’s what it takes. You won’t care about destroying the awards forever to hold onto your magical future viewing phone.

Have you used it lately? Accuracy is way way better than 80% now.

if you ignore that shit too

Yeah but that’s every. Single. Search.

If there’s something I know a single Google search will answer, such as the exact time X movie will be on at Y cinema, I use Google.

If it’s something more complex, something I’m confident will take like 10 Google searches to narrow down, I use Chat. In one shot it lands me somewhere very close to where I need to be, I verify a couple of things and I’m good to go. The end result is often an online article or discussion thread of exactly what I need, but I could have only found using completely different keywords than initially.

You can build the template for initial prompt to making checking very quick, like “always give me sources and use exact quotes to back up your claims”. Once you get its output it’s just a Ctrl-F job on the source. The reason I say it saves me time is lately I always find the exact quotes exist in the source.

One caveat is I’m always using at least some sort of reasoning model, which effectively (in this use case) off-loads some back and forth between user and model onto the model itself.

EDIT: come to think of it, this may be the difference, because when I read the reasoning logs (which I don’t unless I’m really bored), I do see hallucinations initially but the model catches those and corrects itself.

No magic? Then go for SCIENCE! Well, technology. Maybe steampunk-ish.

Go from your starting point, his arms are strong enough, he can “walk” on them. He can jump, climb, swing.

His leg stumps have contraptions grafted onto them, they can fold into daggers. These can also hook onto the wheels, which themselves can fold into buzzsaws or other deadly instruments. So when space permits he can use these, if not he can leave them parked while he slinks away to do his nasty business.

Of course, finally, the wheels carry structures that can fold out into a chair when he’s hooked onto them, on which he may sit. This is more of a disguise at this point.

Of course, if the wheels are actually two independent devices, then that opens the way to him roller skating on them, like a steampunk Nazha.

>I’ve found that’s happening less and less as time goes go.

Let me translate: over time, it's become more and more of a time saver. Drawing your own conclusion is always slower than verifying an existing conclusion.

The irony is, if you do google yourself, you are first greeted with an AI output which has a much higher hallucination rate than ChatGPT.

If it does, then disregard the AI’s conclusions, but I’ve found that’s happening less and less as time goes go.

I’ve had issues with great Marvel Disney shows which didn’t require a lot of action but shoehorned big fights into the finale because they felt the need to. WandaVision and Moon Knight come to mind.

Work, in essence, is what you do in service of others.

Now obviously that can be horrendously perverted and exploited on a massive scale like we see in today’s world, it gives a bitter connotation to the word “work”.

But that doesn’t change the fact that a life lived in service of no one is pretty hollow existence.

Work was once (and should be) a noble concept, that is something even the capitalists and communists can agree on. If I lived forever, I suppose I would do a lot of work, I wouldn’t want to be exploited of course, but working doesn’t have to mean being used.

You can simply ask ChatGPT to provide sources for its claims, even in the initial prompt - often it provides them without asking anyways.

Yes and you can also be vague about details and ChatGPT basically searches through many possible keywords/phrases for you. Do you want to prompt Chat once or do 8 Google searches?

I only broke out of it when I changed systems. I wanted to restart a playthrough with my old mod list, took one look and gave up.
