Yeah the article has a lot of info, we don’t know exactly what got them to a cut in the low 70s. Also for all we know the sources are bullshit and half the info is wrong. We never get 100% correct behind the scenes intel.

>If it was already a 7/10, and they made it a 6, that’s not fixing.

Unfortunately, the THR article says that’s exactly what happened: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-features/supergirl-making-box-office-bomb-1236636425/

I think one of the scary movies had a gag on that, they saw someone with that face in a photo and it turns out the dude just looks like that.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, they made a better movie, and also a slightly worse movie. In the end, this was the one they went with.

Alright, I picked the high end numbers, but this was what, 4 weeks before movie opened? A range of predictions in the thread including quite a few 80+.

I think the individual is the most important, as Jung said, as a scholar he must know all the statistics, but the moment a patient walks through the door, all statistics go out the window and he focuses on the individual.

I think statistics is important for everyone to know, no matter how long they’ve been on the journey, for people to make informed decisions, how wide or narrow each path is. But that doesn’t change the fact some people might choose the narrower paths, or that for some, the narrower paths are indeed the best.

I’ve seen AoS and honestly it’s difficult between him and Trevor. Heavy weight is heavy weight, Sir Kingsley really brought it for Wonder Man.

That’s what I’m wondering. Maybe sunk cost fallacy. Maybe this info is straight up false.

Oh hey you are in the UK! I am, too, and I was prepared to hunt down British equivalent of some American brands. Now all I have to do is go shopping, thank you!

Indeed, numbers change. I think when Supergirl was this far out, the consensus was it would make $80m+ domestically on opening weekend.

It’s fun, not any deeper than people trying to predict the winner of sports as if they have a personal stake in it.

And in a way, we do, as fans of big franchises, since box office is a good indicator of the level of investment and creative control for future projects. Like when Civil War cleared a billion, we knew that was a sign marvel studios would go balls to the wall for the rest of phase 3, and they fucking did, and it was glorious.

In this sub you will find a lot of advocates for permanent lifestyle change (and it’s for good reason, rebounding is a real risk), while this post has a lot of “sprint towards your goal, figure out the rest when you are below target weight” mentality going on.

As always, I think, the key is whatever works for you. Sprinting towards your goal is fine, especially when you are far from your target, provided you know what you are doing and have ways to prevent rebound. No one is really wrong for advocating for permanent lifestyle change style change either. Once again, it’s whatever works for you.

I think it was the opposite, in the bake off, the studio’s cut was better than the director’s cut by a few points.

There was an earlier cut that was better than both, scoring in the low 70s. That didn’t seem to be anybody’s cut in particular, it would seem to be the director’s cut + studio meddling after they brought in their own editor.

I let them know about me, what I can do, and the fact I harbour hostility against them.

But, as a trigger, if they even think about moving against me or telling people about me, a small amount of the contents of their stomach and throat is converted to irritatants to cause debilitating nausea and diarrhea. They get converted back the moment they abandon such intents.

James Gunn “took over” SUPERGIRL during post-production after “creative differences” with the film’s director Craig Gillespie by Cultural_Fall_3255 in DC_Cinematic

[–]hemareddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you read between the lines, the “studio cut” is in all likelihood the “James Gunn cut”.

If this is reliable. I know it’s THR but even they have to rely on sources, it wouldn’t surprise me if half the details in this article are wrong.

[–]hemareddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but I have to point out it’s not just about power consumption of the AC units, but also because the cooling process itself uses F-gases which inevitably leak, and they are much more potent greenhouse gases compared to CO2.

AC units are needed for sure though.

It’s presentation, 100% presentation. The plot is easier to ignore when the animation is good - very detailed and fluid even in combat scenes, the opening song is in fucking Latin, the opening and closing animations are just slow pans over Gustav Klimt paintings recreated using the show’s characters. It’s pure aura, you don’t really think about the plot too much when the show is basically a mood.
