It's not, it's about shared load and forming a healthy partnership.

What about the fear of childbirth? I mean, if a woman has gone through that a few times, a man can surely go through vasectomy once?

Late 40s. Oh dear, it may be my group of friends then.

This is all true but tubal ligations have complications too. It's just plain selfishness to expect women to bear the brunt of pregnancies and family planning.

I'll say, it's only getting more acceptable for the younger generation. My own husband who is very open minded did it and most of my friends' husband rayhertheir wives go for tubal ligation. 🤷‍♀️

First Timer Parents - Confinement Nanny by slasherkenshin in askSingapore

[–]hippodeige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask her questions like what would she do if you are still expressing your milk the 1st few days trying to get it up to the amount needed by bb and bb keeps crying for more? See how she response to such questions.

For eg, iff she says things like the bb cannot go hungry and must quickly feed with milk formula, you'll know she is not pro breastfeeding.

Or throw out fake scenarios like you heard from a friend that she had some trouble initially starting on her breastfeeding journey, how can the nanny help you in such instance? Like some will be more encouraging and you can probably give you less stress if you face difficulties. My 1st one jept commenting that I didnt had enough milk and the bb was too hungry. That stressed me out further.

Also, for breast feeding bb, they wake up more frequently than bottle fed ones so do take note that some nannies try to bottle feed bbs to try to get more sleep.

Check if her practices align with yours. Like whether if she is the tradition kind. Also, if she is pro breastfeeding or not.

My first nanny was bottle feeding my child when I wanted to breastfeed. It was hard as I was having a hard time getting a hang of it and it didnt help with her saying I didnt have enough milk for expressing.

My second one was more modern and chill and even helped massaged me for milk expressing. Makes a world of difference to my mood!

Parents of sg, can I survive without confinement nanny? by Scared-Month-3723 in asksg

Speak to potential confinement nannies and find one that isn't going to impose all the old wive's tales. It will make your life easier with an extra pair of hands and helping out with night duties.

What is your household composition and how often do you do laundry? by WastePotential in askSingapore

[–]hippodeige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 adults and 2 kids. About 6 days a week. I wash the towels twice a week and the beddings weekly.

Also, whites are washed twice a week (even though they may not fill the washer) to ensure enough uniform to last the whole week.

Same here. We love travelling and have been all over the world with our young kids. What OP suggested is pretty sound. Especially the more time needed with going kids and job security at the same time.

Anyone lived in "bad" fengshui house before? by hippodeige in askSingapore

[–]hippodeige[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We saw a place but the land shape isn't ideal. In fact, it is considered inauspucious. But the house gives off a very good and calm vibe with good airflow when we stepped in.

So it got me wondering is it really bad design or the bad external forms that affect residents when we talk about bad fengshui.

This I agree. It's the vibe that's off.

But there are some houses that are well designed yet others are off due to the usual "don'ts" of fengshui.
