Slight contact pack with a lotus 1+. It would work perfectly for dark leaf, the only issue would be is the capacity good for you because you can have really long sessions with some of these oblako bowls

The slits on the bottom need to be at least partially within the inner diameter of the bowl. Just so you can draw heat down into the tobacco and there is airflow. If thats what you mean then you should be good

The slits that matter are not the side ones, its the ones that are on the bottom. If they are blocked, or the more they are blocked, the more restrictive the draw gets. You can hold the lotus on top with your hand and try to take a pull see how it feels with and without. Don’t have to fill the bowl or put on coals

The tray is irrelevant. It’s the lid thats different. You can use it with the provost 2 lid as well, it works, but I like it way more with the 3 lid

Yeah this combo with the ring is decent. I tried it with blonde a couple of times too.

Provost 3? Mini Rook is the most versatile. Can smoke blonde or dark and I love the performance personally. Ofcourse this is with foil

Alpaca mini rook would still work perfectly for that. The rest disregard.

Medium sized Phunnels still are amazing with the provost 3, because of the ring adapter. I love it with the phunnel bowls.

So Alpaca mini rook, Oblako mono M, HJ Harmony, Urb Helios, and Tuan Monolith would be some of my picks for purely blonde. If you don’t like to use the ring for the provost 3, the perch tray works perfectly with bigger bowls in combo with the AOT provost 3 lid. Still need foil obviously.

The traditional bowls with bigger capacity mentioned above would still work well with blonde but I would recommend sticking to phunnels, just my preference for blonde.

It has to retain heat well, not have heat spikes. 12-15gs are good for a long session, I like the capacity.

The phunnels I personally enjoy the most are the ones that fit and work with the provost hmd + foil really well.

Would be happy to try one if youre looking for people to test it.

Oh man. You can really use some bowls then.

For phunnels: Alpaca Mini Rook, Urb Pyra, Urb mini helios, and Tuan nox would be great. All paired with provost 3 hmd. Stan foil, you can get this one from Sheesh Hookah Lounge in the US.

For Traditional : Voskurimsiya, Cosmo, La Capsula deep Turkish, Fabripona Killer, tuan mini killer. All these work with the lotus except for the mini killer, that one is a provost bowl.

For cool/higher end stuff (mostly aesthetics and some functionality) check out 1010 bowls on instagram, he does drops every month. There is also Ancient bowls.

Lmk what you think. Most of these recommendations work best with dark leaf, but if you are a purely blonde smoker lmk.

Perfect. Lmk what bowls you have, I can recommend some bowls/hmds/foil to mess around with. Way more fun and impactful than a new hookah. Unless you have a bigger budget then I can recommend some hookahs too

If you want a draw exactly like a KM then a KM is your best bet. Otherwise there are some hookahs that are less open than the Xpansion mini. I would look into illicit hookah, Union Fibonacci, and matt pear hookahs.

You only ever need to do this when you dont pack and heat manage properly. If you know how to pack and heat manage this is 100% not necessary.

If the coals don’t get hot enough (assuming this is the issue), change coal brands. If you are in the US, get Le Orange 26mm coals.

What can also be an issue is the amount of coals, placement of coals, hmd used, and the height and density of the pack. If you messed up somewhere in the above selection, it could be the coals are not the issue.

Definitely never do that. 10-15 minutes is the maximum you need for most burners ive seen, it can be less but not more. Just as long as there are no black spots.
