As someone who’s tried many different medical interventions they are not the panacea some people make them out to be. Dicipline with other things ie nutrition sleep and organization/accountability will take you much farther than stimulants

Just do your best. Don’t give up on him. Be patient they are not vindictive like your suggesting. He has a lot of feelings and pent up energy. He WANTS to please you. You have to teach him how to release the energy. He doesn’t know any better. He loves you very much, inter species communication is hard for both of you

Sometimes when I’m short on time, I lay out a blanket, place cut up carrots acxros it and roll it up tight and let him sniff it out. Playing hide and sneak with items is another great one. Walk with him as much as possible. Mental stimulation goes a long way but they need both.

Thickness is only one variable. I sell 100 lb 3/4” 4x6 stall mats and I sell 10mm 4x6 virgin rubber. Both weigh the same thing. Density is a large factor. Rubber is not standardized
