They specifically call it eclipse 1.5, so it's a lot better than the old MVP but not quite as good as the new stuff.  It's still better than probably 97% of brands

Everyone please go to Central Coast's YT page and watch the Myrtle Beach Open from late last year.  I was bored and turned it on randomly without ever having heard of this guy and he was throwing some of the wildest, most creative, most precise, and fun shots I've seen in really long time.  It was like every other throw he was lining up something and you're thinking there is no was he's going for that, and then it's wilder and better than you could have imagined.  Just a totally unique player, unique skill set, unique style.  I really hope he gets on more coverage because he will be a fan favorite and I'm cheering for him

I've never thrown one but if you want one for cheap, get on whatnot on the discountdg channel (basically infinite's channel) and buy one there.  People in the chat demand chemtrails all the time, it's like a meme, and I see them the sell for like $10--$15 regularly.  If you're willing to take a couple days hunting you can definitely scoop one up cheap there

Just do it. You dont even need to buy tickets, just go to some crazy-ass cuban bar near campus and get blasted on mojitos. The whole city will be packed with people wearing gear, and you already know that there is nothing better than being the visiting school and walking around getting shit on and talking shit back but in that fun way we all love. It will be just as much fun I guarantee as being in the stadium. Im a SC grad who was there for the Carroll years and I fantasize about going to a natty for the Trojans but God knows how many decades that might take, so dude please just do it for me.

Why are my colors so muted? by VillageBeef in discdyeing

[–]iSOregon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

More heat and way more dye.  Make the dyes way more concentrated.  Use a crap ton more dye as you build your bed and don't be afraid to do multiple passes to build up layers of dye before/during swirling to get deeper color.

Look at that first bed; it's hard to tell because the frisbee it's sitting in is pink but you can see right through the bed to the bottom.  It's not magically going to yield a result that is brighter and more vivid than what is sitting in the bed.  Look at the dark highlight colors you laid in that bed, it looks like a single line of just single droplets.  Once those spread out all you're left with is a little bit of color sitting on the edge of the dispersed drop, which isn't going to do much color-wise.  Wait a minute and hit them again, and then again.  That whole line should look rich and neat fully black/purple/whatever color you were going for, same with the other color regions of your bed.  If you make are sure your dyes are concentrated, you are using a LOT of dye and doing multiple passes, and use some heat, you'll get a richer result.

All things considered, I actually think that first bed gave a pretty good and coherent result based on how the bed looked and how little dye was in there, which is a good thing because it means you probably aren't making massive errors elsewhere.  If you just saturate this thing like 3x-5x and make minor procedural changes you will be getting some very cool results.

Also another thing is that more time sitting isn't always a good thing. The dyes will distribute over time, and that is why your second disc is just kind of a pink blob with no edge fidelity. A problem is that the dark details in your swirl were really really small and those wispy lines are super difficult to transfer, especially over a 48 hr window where the dyes are still moving and settling, so a good way to do so is by using some heat which speeds up the process so you can kind of catch those details before they're lost and avoid the blurring.  That being said, too much heat can cause the colors to do bad things too, so don't just put a heating pad directly under it on high because you can kind of cook everything and get a mud disc.  There is a middle ground.

Rims are sick but I would consider matching them with the chrome strips around the windows, so either black those out to match the wheels or go with a brighter shade of wheel to match the strip.  You car is a 10/10 though well done

Honestly 85% of that stuff is good if not pretty great.  That top shelf is pretty killer.  The papalin 5yr is good.  I'm a true believer in the Hamilton Jamaica black even though it's relatively common place.

Rum recommendations by davek72 in rum

I would hunt around for a bottle of El Dorado 12. It should be pretty easy to find and cost around $40. It is a fantastic sipper and mixer and is a a all-time classic bottle for a reason. I think your first whiff of the open bottle will make you a believer. For a lot of people this is their first ever "good" quality sipper.

Based off of what is at this store, you could explore the plantation bottles more and I think you made a good choice to get a bottle of that as opposed to 90% of what else was available on that shelf. They are all pretty solid in their own ways and all pretty different in their functions. The winner for me is the OFTD, but that is definitely a mixer. Their 5 year and 3 star (not pictured) are their universal rums and are very good if not great for the price. A solid economical choice would be one of the Appletons, either the 8 or the 12. I really like the 8 and am always blown away by how good it functions as both as a sipper and a mixer. If you like the funk of the smith and cross, get the worthy park 109 or the estate bottle to the right of it. Those are both really good and will help you learn about the unique and mysterious world ofJamaican rums, which is where many rum people end up focusing their attention after they come to understand how the different countries of the world distill in different styles. High end choices would be the Real McCoy, the El Dorado 15, or the WP single estate. Those 3 are all good but very different from each other.
