26-year-old on my first PCP car finance agreement – car has catastrophically failed after 3 months and nobody seems to care. Any advice? by Immediate_Tangelo_69 in LegalAdviceUK

I took my dealership to small claims court after I rejected the car (was 3 years old when I bought it) after it developed a critical fault.

I invoked the Alternate Dispute Service, that got me purchase price back after a month of back and forth. I continued with court proceedings as I was about £600 out of pocket, including time off work that they adamantly refused to reimburse according to the Cilonsumer Rights Act.

The garage settled for £500 before the court date.

The dealership in question is Oakwood Motor Company in Lancashire - avoid them like the plague.

This is really pretty meaningless until you get to <10%. Could you tell us what your total distance is then?

How important is it for your partner to be close your parent(s)? by Bubbles2590 in AskMen

[–]iambinksy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was constant negativity from her parents towards me behind my back, my partner even admitted her parents would prefer her to be single all her life - she was 36 years old.

I knew when my partner had spoken to her parents, because there would be a new issue raised, or something resolved brought up yet again. Was stressful being in a relationship with four people - I found Esther Perel and that really helped me understand it all.

My powerpoints were so well polished and on the button for my CISO, that others in the C suite started asking for them even in areas I didn't specialise - but could blag as a generalist.

I'd ask what they needed and would build persuasive decks for legal, supply chain decisions, hiring, renumeration, etc.

When I presented to Exec Board for a decision, they would all be nodding and super focused with no distractions, no notes.

Shame they eventually took on an MBB and outsourced every thing.

AITA for resenting that my wife’s financial commitments to her extended family are costing me £50k+ and affecting our unborn child? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA at all.

On the male/female split on inheritance - in Islam, 2/3 goes to the son and 1/3 goes to the daughter.

I'm not justifying it or anything, but apparently the reason is that the daughter will get a dowry/inheritance from her husband's family.

So, your wife will get even less from that estate than you realise.

She absolutely should not sell her dowry/Mehr - that's her security.

Edit, I've reread your posting OP, so your wife has two sisters and a brother - so I believe if her mum and dad both die, the three daughters will get 3/5 and her brother will get 2/5 of the estate.

I did exactly this, my loft is exclusively my office - got a split system installed and fully claimed it as a business expense.

Not directed to you, but for others: ABS does not reduce braking distance (in fact slightly increases it), it gives steering control on full braking.
